Hello,

I noticed a list of files eula.txt, install.exe, Instal.res.dll, and VC_RED.cab appearing on my C: drive

My antivirus didn’t find anything, I didn't think to check but I also saw these files appearing on my D: partition (since I installed a couple of games there)

What is this? How do I remove it?
Thank you

Configuration: Msi GX 660
Intel core i5-460M 2.53 GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870
4GB RAM
Win 7, Opera 11

Hey

Don’t panic for no good reason;
it’s just the installation files for this:

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package

Location chosen by rude devs but nothing unusual!

For "Q:", a letter reserved for Microsoft Office 2010 and later versions Click2Run (free up the letter if you’re using it elsewhere), you need to act here:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices

Don't delete anything without knowing how to do it; without knowing how or why!

Thanks

UP I thought about reinstalling Open Office just in case it was related, Q: disappeared for a while, I thought that the files might have followed but nothing has changed and Q: is back...

So what can I delete?

I eventually got used to it, but I would like to have something clean :)

I have exactly the same files that have appeared. And it coincides with the reset of the PC following numerous issues. I wonder if they correspond to backup files created during this reset.

I know this is old, but I just want to say (if someone happens to come by and reads the comment) that I have the same issues without having reinstalled, so that has nothing to do with it.
I think it corresponds either to what was mentioned above or to installation files related to software like Daemon Tools or Virtual CloneDrive.
