iTunes installation issue Solved/Closed

Question

Hello,  I wanted to update iTunes 10.5 this evening, but I'm encountering a problem during the installation. I get the following error message:  "An error occurred during the installation of the Microsoft assembly. VOC80.CRT, type="win32"; version=..." Followed by a series of numbers and letters that are beyond my (limited) computer skills.  I tried downloading iTunes directly from the Apple website, but I still encounter the same problem.  Do you have a solution to resolve this?  Thank you.  Configuration: Windows Vista / Safari 535.1

Hello, I have the same problem! I can't install the iTunes 10.5 update! I even uninstalled iTunes from my PC and reinstalled 10.5 but I get the same error message which is: "An error occurred during the installation of the assembly from Microsoft. VOC80.CRT, type="win32"; version=..." etc. etc!!! Can someone help us?

Good evening; I also have a problem with iTunes. This morning I installed the latest version of iTunes 10.5.  I get an error when I select Help.  The error is: "The requested URL / itunes/win/10.5 / .was not found on this d server"  Apache /2.2.3 (oracle) Server at help. Port 80  Please, what should I do? What does this sentence mean? Go to the control panel, click on "Programs and Features," then right-click on the program "Apple Software Update" and select "Repair" from the list that appears. Your program will automatically be repaired, after which you can simply restart the iTunes update installation.

Hello,  I have the same issue, on Windows 7 32-bit when loading iTunes 10.5 with the following message: An error occurred during the installation of the assembly "Microsoft.VC80.CRT.type="win32".version="8.0.50727.6195".publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b".processorArchitecture="x86"; Refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x80073712.  I contacted Apple: they claim it's a Microsoft error. I then contacted Microsoft who... claims it's an Apple problem! Thanks a lot to both, I've made a lot of progress.  While looking a bit into what the various codes in the message mean, I found out that they seem related to an issue with the security update for Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable. It did not install or was installed incorrectly. I spent hours trying to load it manually without success. It seems there are 3 versions: - one from 04/10/2006 - a SP1 from 11/15/2007 that replaces the previous one before installing - an update from 07/28/2009 that replaces the previous version before attempting to install but fails with the message: Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of the assembly "Microsoft.VC80.MFC,type= "win32",version= "8.0.50727.4053",publicKeyToken= "1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture= "x86", type= "win32"  That's a lot of messages I don't understand much about and I'm not any further along.  But at least, during all the time I spent searching, I haven't spoken ill of my neighbor...  If anyone finds the solution...  Thank you in advance.

I'm installing iTunes and a first message appears:  An error occurred during the installation of assembly "Microsoft.VC80.CRT, version="8.0.50727.4053", type="win32", publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b", processorArchitecture="x86". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT = 0x80070002.  At the end of the installation, when iTunes opens, a second message appears:  This iPhone cannot be used because the necessary software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes.  Whether I install the 64-bit version or not, it makes no difference. Has anyone found a solution?

Well, here’s another one in the community. I thought I was alone in the world, but in fact, there are several of us on this little island that is iTunes 10.5 not installed. Hi, I had the same problem as everyone else, I went to the Apple website and found the solution.  The solution is to uninstall all Apple software and delete their folders in program files. Restart the computer and iTunes 10.5 installs without error.  I have Windows 7 64 bits. For your information.  http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923?viewlocale=en_US

Hello, what have I done: Well, I don't recommend it, I got upset the whole night. Here it is: I deleted iTunes from my PC, even the stuff that was in the subdirectories. But before that, I copied all my music and apps onto CDs. You never know, I didn't want to lose everything. I also deleted Safari and QuickTime Player. Then I downloaded iTunes 10.3 But then my iPod didn't work anymore when I connected it to iTunes. iTunes told me: your iPod is of a higher version. So I tried to restore my iPod to the original setting. But I couldn't do it. I got really angry, I was ready to throw my PC out the window. Since I'm useless, I reinstalled iTunes 10.5 knowing it didn't work. In the end, I had no choice. And yesterday, I turned on my PC and saw on my screen that there was an iTunes 10.5.1 update I downloaded it and everything went back to normal. Phew.  PS: there's something I don't understand. We have 2 computers connected to the same modem. I have Windows 7 - yesterday iTunes offered me an update. My friend has Windows XP and iTunes hasn't offered him an update yet. Why? Hello everyone,  I am on Windows 7 64 bit, I have the same problem as you and I still haven't managed to install iTunes 10.5.1.  However, I went to the site: http://www.oldapps.com/itunes.php I downloaded version 10.4.1 (x64) of iTunes, the installation worked perfectly, and I managed to sync it with my iPhone.  So this will allow me to hold on while waiting for Apple to fix the problem!  Have a good evening.

Hello; Like many people, I am facing the same problem; in fact, it all comes from Visual C++, which prevents the installation of QuickTime Player??? It would be necessary to uninstall all Visual C++ and reinstall (but be careful, it doesn't work with the redistributable version)....... It seems quite complicated!!!! I also encountered the same problem with the latest version 11.1.  Just perform the following steps under Windows 7:  - Windows Button - Control Panel - Programs - Programs and Features - "Apple Software Update": right-click "repair"  Do the same for all Apple Bookmarks and that's it.
