How to reduce a photo to 2 MB?

As a beginner, I don't know what the procedure is to obtain a photo of a size of 2MB requested by the site. Thank you. Best regards.

2 MB is the maximum weight generally allowed. So the photo doesn't have to weigh 2 MB; if it weighs 1 MB, it should be fine. However, if it exceeds 2 MB, it needs to be reduced. The easiest way to avoid losing quality is to reduce its format (if it weighs more than 2 MB, it must practically be in A4 size, far too large for display on a website). There are professional software programs that do this very well (of course, that's their purpose), like Photoshop, but they remain expensive for the general public. Fortunately, there are equivalents, less powerful and less complete but FREE, like Photofiltre (available for free download and in French at http://www.photofiltre-studio.com/download.htm)
