a bank MUST reimburse if the transaction was not made with the PIN code, but just with the card number.

The only requirement is of course to file a complaint, to prevent abuse...

It simply doesn't advertise this... Imagine the consequences...;-)

But they never do it, except for very large amounts.

As a result: if the check has any trace of overwriting, or if the payee's name is missing, or if the signature is false, the bank will refund you without discussion within 6 days.

Even if it means going after the perpetrator of the offense if deemed necessary. They will definitely know them through the credit account number.
