Hello,
I just got a PS1 with nothing else (no controller or memory card).
Luckily, I have two or three PS1 games and a PS2.
So I borrowed a controller from my PS2 and plugged it into my PS1. I inserted a PS1 game into the console (Asterix) and pressed Power after closing the lid.
I reached a screen with a gray background and two icons, after hearing some buzzing sounds. One icon has two memory sticks and the other has musical notes and piano keys. What should I do to play my game? I don't understand!!
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I think your game is not recognized by the console, it should start immediately when powered on.
The disc may be dirty or scratched, or the lens may be faulty.
You can try putting in a music CD; if it reads, then the lens is fine.
Have you tried another game?
I remember that at one time, a series of PlayStations wouldn’t read games properly, and you had to place the console on its side or even flip it upside down to make it work...
Give that a try, keep us updated...
See you later

Thank you very much, indeed, the lens is broken, and the console is therefore worthless!
Thank you, Telemachus, thank you!
