Hello,
I want to insert a video into PowerPoint, but it tells me that the codec required for this media is not correct... I have looked at the posts and tried changing the extension to .mpeg with Avi knowing that the video is originally in .mpg and plays in Windows Media Player.
I have the 2010 version of PowerPoint, I have other videos that work, and to me, they have the same properties. I'm not very skilled with computers and I need to insert this video for my work/internship....
Thank you in advance for your responses.

Hello,
I think we should use a video conversion software:
Freemake Video Converter
https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/tv-video/10653-freemake-video-converter/#q=Freemake+Video+Converter&cur=1&url=%2F
Free video converter
https://www.01net.com/telecharger/windows/Multimedia/encodeurs_et_decodeurs/fiches/43531.html
Normally, with these software options, there shouldn't be any issues; they work very well.

Hi
wouldn't it be WMV that PPT wants???
look in Insert => Movies and Sounds => Movie from File
and in the "Insert Movie" window, for "File Type", click on the little arrow to see the supported formats
I think that the basic codecs for video should also come into play
that they shouldn't have codecs from a codec pack
later

no links on the English web page, I'm already flying solo enough

Thank you! Yes, you're right, it's in wmv format, so I downloaded free video converter (thanks Tintin ^^) and the video is included in the ppt but it's lagging a bit, I'll see if I can fix this issue since it's for a professional presentation! In any case, the other videos were also in .mpg and they played, so I don't understand why this one doesn't.... the mysteries of computing! Thank you for your two replies that helped me solve my problem.
Have a great end of the week!
