Ear pain relief

Hi, I recently got the Beats Solo HD headphones, and everything is fine except for one really annoying thing: they hurt my ears! The pain comes from inside and the sides of my ears.. and it's not after 1 hour like some people say online, for me it hurts just 5 minutes after putting them on... and I can't even talk about an hour, it's really painful... I bought them at FNAC so it's not a fake, I don't understand why they hurt so much, they’re supposed to be comfortable.

So I want to know if this is normal, if anyone else has noticed this.. I must be very sensitive to the pressure on my ears, but I didn't want the Studio ones because they're more expensive and bulkier.. I'm starting to wonder if they would be more comfortable since they cover the whole ear compared to the Solo. For a while I had a JVC HAS360, that also puts pressure on the ear, but I really don't remember having that much pain, it's strange.

Thanks to you.

You’re just in time... so don’t send back your Beats Solo because I had the same problem at first and now everything is fine. Indeed, when you’re used to a different headset than you had before, it takes some time to adjust. Also, you need to find the ideal positioning on your ears (try experimenting to find the right compromise that hurts the least; in short, the ear cushions should sit nicely on your ears. If you have medium-sized ears, the headphones should completely cover them) while also adjusting the headband to your liking. Once you’ve done all that, you’ll notice the change quickly; in a few days, no more pain... well, after 2 hours of use, you might still feel a slight discomfort, but that’s normal. Enjoy the music! ;)
