Hello,
I just bought a 27-inch iMac, it was the demonstration model.
My problem is as follows: a demo of the Mac keeps starting up endlessly and none of my changes are taken into account. Whether I copy files, modify the administrator account, delete files... on the next startup everything is back in place as if I had never touched the computer.
I assume the Mac must be locked to prevent people who touch the machine from blocking it.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Configuration: Windows XP / Safari 534.16

Yes, that's what I wanted to tell you, that's why I asked you if you have the CDs.
So to format it first, make sure to back up your data first ;)
Then you put the MAC OS X Snow Leopard CD in and restart the computer, holding down the "C" key when the Apple logo appears.
In the window that will appear afterward, you should normally choose your language, accept the license agreement.....
Just before selecting the hard drive to install the system, you must absolutely format the hard drive; you need to click on "Disk Utility" in the toolbar at the top, then select your hard drive and click on format.
Once that’s done, finish the installation procedure and there you go :)
Then you need to put in the other CD (the iLife suite) which will allow you to do a lot of things with the five programs: GarageBand, iMovie, iPhoto, iWeb, and iDVD).
After you get to your brand new desktop ;P Make sure to do all the software updates by clicking on the apple at the top and then "Software Update" (This might take a little while)
Good luck ;) I've done all this recently x)
