Excel filter on the second row

Hello everyone,

So, I'm on Excel 2010. I have a table with 7 columns:
A1=id; B1:D1=attribute1; E1:G1=attribute2 (B1:D1 merged, same for E1:G1)
B2=criteria1; C2=criteria2; D2=criteria3; E2=criteria1; F2=criteria2; G2=criteria3

I would like to insert filters on the column headers.
So I did:
Home -> Edit -> Sort & Filter -> Filter
This does insert filters, but in the cells of the first row, so A1, B1 and E1.
Is it possible to have filters in A1, B2, C2, D2, E2, F2, and G2???

Thanks for your answers

Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 7.0

    Hello,
    In the case of merged columns, Excel uses the filter on the first column.
    In your case, just add a blank row and select your entire table including the blank row (excluding the header row) to be able to use the filter.

      Thank you Grandpa, that helped me too, my lines at the very top are used to calculate totals for formulas ;-)
