Beats Studio faulty connection to repair

Hello,
I have owned the Monster Studio since last September, and for the past few weeks it has been experiencing a loose connection on the left side, causing crackling and music dropouts. Tapping on it on the left side would make it go away, until yesterday: IMPOSSIBLE TO GET IT TO EMIT SOUND.

Having bought this headset on eBay (new), I rolled up my sleeves and started a complete disassembly.
I quickly noticed that one of the two wires connected to the + terminal of the batteries was disconnected. It seems easy to fix, however, after several attempts, the sound either did not come out or was still crackling. It was only by wrapping these two wires together and making them contact the terminal that I got normal sound once, but I can't reproduce this maneuver!!

If you have ever experienced this or know how to repair a headset of this kind equipped with braided wires and what seem to be micro-nylon wires inside: I implore your help!

Thank you very much :)

Configuration: Mac OS X / Safari 533.21.1

Hello everyone

I had the same problem and it was actually the cable connecting the left ear of my Beat Studio that had cracked from bending and unfolding it to store it in its small case. I think that since it was rubbing against the metallic surface of the headphones, that was causing the crackling. I just had to take a bit of tape and wrap it around that same cable, and then it was all good!
Here’s a little link for those who want to know how to disassemble the monster :p

Come on, jump in people, and I hope I can help as many people as possible :)

Which cable did you put the tape on?
