Hello,
I have an Epson Stylus D88 series printer that I've been using for about 7/8 years and I'm perfectly satisfied with it (it works with Windows XP).
Since this morning, when I start a print job, a message appears: "items in the printer are almost at the end of their life. Please consult your printer's documentation."
I click OK, the print starts and it is fine.
If any user familiar with the Epson Stylus D88 series could inform me and advise me on a corrective procedure (and easy to execute for a beginner) regarding this message. I have recently started telecommuting and need to make prints and I don't intend to invest in a printer for the moment.
Thank you in advance, doda
Configuration: Windows XP / Safari 534.24

Good evening everyone,
I am revisiting my original message. I found an answer to my question; I note it below.
You just need to install the software "SSCutility" which can be downloaded from the site "http://ssclg.com/epson.shtlm (which also resets the internal ink counters when the cartridges are empty - allowing them to be refilled)
This software works with 100 Epson models; blocks the internal printing count systems; resets and rewrites any chip; resets the protection counter even if it's full.
This software works with Windows 95/98/MILLENNIUM/2000/XP, connected via USB and LPT ports, and finally, this program is free.
If anyone has used this download, has the message been corrected?
Thank you for your responses, DODA -
Unfortunately, it will have to be replaced sooner or later... 7 years, that's okay, knowing that some printers nowadays are designed to break down quickly.... I don't know of any tricks to extend their lifespan, other than the fact that the materials will eventually wear out...
But in my opinion, it won't give up on you anytime soon (even though generally it doesn't give a warning...)
