Hello,
Following a reformat, Windows created a windows.old folder.
How can I delete the protected Identity-H and -V files from Acrobat Reader on my hard drive?
Having tried unsuccessfully:
1/ disabling UAC (User Account Control)
https://www.commentcamarche.net/informatique/windows/261-desactiver-le-controle-de-compte-d-utilisateur-uac-de-windows/
2/ the registry hack "Take Ownership" available @
https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1911-take-ownership-shortcut.html?ltr=T
(3/ the uninstaller clean-up is no longer downloadable as it damages other files:

Thank you.
Configuration: Windows 7 / Internet Explorer 8.0

Un message d'alerte apparaît lorsque je clique droit/supprimer : "You need permission from the system to modify this folder." How to proceed, please?

Hello.
At my place, Acrobat Reader caused the file explorer to refresh every 1 to 2 seconds, making it impossible to select a file, especially in well-stocked directories.
When I opened the task manager, "acrord32.exe" appeared with each of my actions in the explorer.
The standard uninstallation didn't find the uninstall (based on the names of the directories, I had 2 installs of AR 9 + an update to AR 11), so I cleaned everything up with the means at hand (Windows Install Clean Up + automatic cleaning and then manual cleaning of the registry) but was unable to remove Identity-H and Identity-V.
Under XP, the "security" tab does not exist.
To delete them, I had to:
1) rename the 2 files.
2) restart the PC
3) move the entire "\program Files\Adobe" directory to a temporary directory,
4) restart the PC
5) delete the directory.
After this uninstallation of Acrobat Reader, the file explorer became stable again. I'm hesitant to reinstall it. I'm more inclined to go for another PDF Reader.
If this information can help someone....

By googling:
Change the permission
If you are an administrator and cannot access a file, it is due to a permission error. To grant yourself full permission
right-click the file or folder and select "Properties". Go to the "Security" tab and click the "Edit" button.
Select your username (account) and check the "Full control" box. Once done, click OK.
It worked
