Hello!
I have a little problem with my keyboard (a Packard Bell Activ Board); as long as I'm not on my desktop page, the keyboard doesn't respond (so there's no way to access the BIOS or choose the mode I want when there's a problem at startup). Also, once Windows is up, some keys still don't work (the shortcuts).
I was told that I need to reinstall the keyboard drivers; is that what I should do?? If so, where can I find the drivers???? If it's not that, what should I do????
Thank you in advance for your answers!
Have a nice day

In that case, under Windows, you should redo a detection of your keyboard.
As for the drivers, it's true that there are some for this type of keyboard. You will find them either on the CD that comes with the keyboard or on the manufacturer's website.
The problem can also come from the batteries.

Oops!
I was wondering why you were talking to me about batteries...
I made a mistake, there’s a cable on my keyboard (by the way, my mouse is connected directly to the keyboard but I don't think that changes anything)
I’m sorry... but if you still have 5 little minutes to spare to help me solve my problem... I promise to read what I write before sending my messages ;-)
Thanks again!

Well, if your keyboard is the original one, then the driver is installed during the system installation.
Question:
-which Windows do you have? Windows 98? Windows 2000? Windows Millennium?
-have you recently reinstalled your system?
-since when do you have this problem?
-do you have any other problems?

So I'm going to respond in order!
- Windows XP
- I haven't reinstalled the system recently
- I don't know exactly how long I've had this problem, I discovered it 2 weeks ago (because I have a burning issue when trying to go into the BIOS)
- and another problem: my burner!!! (it no longer appears in My Computer even though it's properly connected).
There you go!

The problem is that your keyboard, if it is connected to the central unit, should be detected unless it is defective.
I have already reinstalled the system but I haven't had any problems
I went to the device manager and it mentioned a CD, I'll see what CDs I have that go with the PC!!
Anyway, thanks a lot for your help!
Have a great rest of the day

Hello Boonnah
(because I have a problem with my burner when trying to enter the BIOS)
- and another problem, my burner!!! (it no longer appears in the workstation even though it is properly connected).
Is this burner configured as master??
If so, it might be causing a problem at startup since the system boots from there
Unplug it and restart your PC
Awaiting your response
See you soon, Claude

Hello!!
For my burner, no problem when starting up the PC! Weird!
But I already tried unplugging it, restarting, shutting down, and plugging it back in but nothing...
As for the keyboard, well, I don't have a CD, so that's that...
I think the best solution would be for some kind soul to gift me a PC (laptop!!)
Thanks for your help!
Hugs

HELLO?
When I restart my PC, my keyboard doesn’t always light up. Why is that? Thank you for helping me.

Same problem, I still found this
http://support.packardbell.com/fr/item/index.php?i=platform_amadeus_ixtreme&g=2000
It will resolve the unknown usb driver issue (for the usb on the keyboard), but not the driver issue for the fingerprint.
It is an auxiliary function, certainly, but there are many of us in this case, they don't provide any drivers, I searched thoroughly, I even went to IBM because Everest tells me that IBM is the manufacturer.
I will be told about my recovery CDs:
I burned them as soon as she got her pc but the hard drive of the pc is dead, so recovery is impossible...
The drivers are in the form of setup.exe that run in the bios and not in windows, not a single trace of dll on the cds...
I also looked at http://support.packardbell.com/fr/item/?m=home&sn=117628210312 to find the drivers, everything is there including those for a usb wifi key that she didn't get with the computer which has exactly this reference.
I won't say more but I won't think any less.
Good luck finding a solution, good evening!

I'm done, it's really frustrating. I tested with the driver for Microsoft products, the DigitalPersona products found here
tested and it doesn't work, so we need the one from Packard Bell which should be somewhere. To find it, they should at least make it available; they seem proud of their product since they talk about it on their website and promote it, but when you have the product, you know what it looks like and what it's worth. By the way, for what it's worth, don't insist ;)
