Which color do I plug my microphone and headphones into on my PC?

Hello,

I just got on skype to chat with a friend; I can hear him and see him
but he can see me and cannot hear me. Can anyone help me?

Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 7.0

    your microphone should be plugged into the red port and your headset (or speakers) if you are using them should be connected to the green port.

    The ports are usually located on the sides for laptops.
