Unable to remove Ethernet cable!!

Hello,

I can no longer remove the Ethernet cable from my laptop. However, the clip for releasing it is not broken. What should I do? I don't want to force it for fear of breaking everything...

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 3.6.13

    but if it's twisted it can get stuck !!
    try (gently) to push at the clip with a small screwdriver right at the base of the RJ45 socket
