At sign missing from the keyboard - Page 2

Hello everyone,

I just had this problem where I couldn't type ~#{[|`\^@]} and it turned out that a pin had slipped between the keys of my keyboard and was stuck under my Alt Gr key. So when I pressed it, the key wouldn't go down all the way because the pin was in the way.

The technique from Jean Louis 37 worked for me.

Control Panel and Regional Options.

In the Regional Options tab, set to French (France) because I was set to French (Belgium).

Then in the Language tab, remove the Belgian keyboard.

I had the same issue; it was due to the fact that the alt+é shortcut was assigned by Nvidia.
So remove the Nvidia shortcut and hop @ reappears...

Hello. This discussion on the subject has been of no help to me. I have therefore decided to find the solution (quickly) by my own means. The problem simply comes from a deactivation of the settings regarding the language of the keyboard used. To reactivate my settings (French - Canada), I proceeded as follows in Windows 7:
1. click on the Start button;
2. type "keyboard" in the search box;
3. click on "Change keyboards or other input methods" in "Control Panel" to open the "Region and Language" box, under the "Keyboards and Languages" tab;
4. click on "Change keyboards";
5. under the "General" tab, clear everything in "Default input language" and "Installed services" to have a clearer view;
6. in "Default input language," click on "Add" and choose from the dropdown menu in the "Add a new language" box the options "French (Canada)," then "Keyboard," then "French (Canada)" and click the "OK" button;
7. do not forget to click on "Apply" (very important);
8. in "Installed services," select "French (Canada)," under the line "Keyboard," which is under the line "French (Canada)," then click the "Apply" button once again.
I know from experience that it is the same resolution to the problem in Windows XP, even if the access paths may differ.

I can't make head or tail of it, but none of the suggested solutions solved my problem. So, I had some fun pressing "Alt Gr" with every key one by one, and that unlocked it, and everything returned to normal. I sometimes find computing weird lol...

Hello... For the missing at sign that appears on the "manual" page, Marc's solution from June WORKS, I also had this annoying problem.
I recap: delete the manual folder from the disk then alt0 you are asked to delete the shortcut, say yes to delete, then it is still possible to restore the "manual" folder by going to the recycle bin. Thank you Marc, your solution works.
