Problem with Continental Edison TV

Hello,

I have a Continental Edison 26'' television that I've had for a week and right from the start I've had a problem. It can happen after 10 minutes or 2 hours. The screen is filled with multicolored vertical lines accompanied by a horrendous noise, then the television shuts off and turns back on by itself.
If anyone has any idea what could be wrong with it .....

    Given the symptoms, the only thing to do is to invoke the warranty. There's no point in trying anything else...

        I contacted Continental Edison directly and here's their response: "We advise you to contact your dealer quickly so that they can take charge of the problem." So it's definitely a problem with the TV that seems irreparable.
