Identify the administrator of a Facebook page

Hello,
I have been tasked with managing the Facebook page of a school. The page has already been created, with several hundred fans, and has clearly been left abandoned. Surely by a former member of the school, or someone well-intentioned whom I don’t want to "report" to Facebook for that matter...
If possible, I would prefer to take over this page (especially its fans), especially since the name is right, without having to post a message on the wall like "looking for the administrator of the lost ship..." (that would be awkward)
Any technique? Any ideas? Thanks in advance...
