[spellforce] unable to start

Hello

I am encountering a problem when I want to launch
Spellforce (by the way, it's the Diamond edition):

My PC displays the following message:

"Conflict detected: an interrupt request has been
discovered. Please disable all antivirus, anti-trojan software,
and debug tools." .
This prevents the game from starting.

What should I do, given that I have taken
care to disable all security features on my PC [including all existing firewalls] and that I have
installed the latest available update for the game.

Thank you in advance

P.S.: why are protections a problem for starting a game locally?

Hello, I have the same problem.
I've had the game plus the two add-ons for a long time and I've played for years without any issues.
I would like to point out that I use a DVD/CD Rom drive, not a combo burner.
The ironic thing is: Spell Force Order of Dawn works fine on its own; the add-on The Breath Of Winter works too.
If I install The Shadow of The Phoenix WITHOUT the latest patch, it works.
With the latest patch 1.52, it no longer works!!
I have uninstalled antivirus, firewall, and even disabled the WinXP SP2 firewall.
Then this morning I reinstalled WinXP and left the new installation of WinXP alone with Spell Force without any other programs or utilities:
AND it still doesn't work... :(
So, could someone with a bit of experience in computing shed some light on my situation please?

Hello,

There's a simple, effective, and apparently legal way if you own the original game.
I just reinstalled the game and I'm having this issue that I didn't have before (new Windows update? Or maybe because I changed drives.).
Anyway, this solution can be summed up in 5 letters: Crack.
You just need to download the no CD crack for version 1.52a (if you have the diamond edition like me.), and then miraculously, it works (It's not really a compatibility/firewall issue..).
This solution is legal only if you own the original game.

Funny...
thank you very much, but....
the no-CD patch 1.54 from BigBen Interactive only works with the Diamond edition:
see here (that's my post):
http://spellforce.jowood.com/forum/showthread.php?s=c5d6db7de8dcb1bb2d0a443f34643a87&t=49680
or
http://spellforce.jowood.com/forum/showthread.php?t=49896

This is because YOU MUST manually enter the key for add-on no. 2 "Spell Force Shadow of The Phoenix".
For those who bought the original game "Spell Force Order Of Dawn" WITH the game key in the box + the 2 add-ons bought separately (WITHOUT a key in the box), there is NO solution at the moment.

The game key for "Spell Force Order of Dawn" does not work with the no-CD patch 1.54, so this solution ONLY works with the Diamond edition.
Too bad for the others like me... :(

Hello everyone! While rummaging through my old boxes, I found my good old Spell Force the Order of Dawn, and I'd love to play it again, but here’s the thing: I have the installation CD 2, but not the game CD 1! Is there any way to play it anyway? (I should add that I only have a very approximate understanding of my computer... :/)

Good evening!
I also have this problem... I bought Bitdefender before seeing Damu's message...
Tell me there’s another solution... I would hate to have wasted 60 euros and I'm almost done with the first campaign sniffsniffsniff...

In fact, some antivirus programs continue to run even after being closed. You actually have to uninstall them.

Well, guys, I'm having the same problem. I took a look at the game's page (site in English), they are aware of the issue:
http://www.jowood.com/gamers/?lang=en&site=5&ScreenID=5348&GameID=spellforce&faq=59
First, you need to make sure your computer is clean. Check with one of the antivirus programs they recommend in the FAQ. If you don't have any from the list, remove yours (yeah, I know it's crazy) and install one of those. Good luck, I'm going to try to find another way and I'll keep you posted.

Hi, I'm not a pro but I might be able to help you.
First, sometimes you need to disable antivirus software because they can detect a danger in the software, but it's very surprising, so you should probably perform a virus and spyware scan!
Otherwise, there might be a conflict with another software, and the game tells you to disable things because it's programmed that way if it encounters this problem, but that's not necessarily the case!
So, I don't hold the absolute truth!
Do your analysis, then we'll see!
Bye!

For the story of the code that doesn't work anymore, I had the same problem.
I called technical support and given the great competence of the technician I spoke to, I downloaded a NOCD crack. Since then, no more issues.

Otherwise, with the diamond edition, I'm facing the same problem.
I don't have any viruses, no spyware on my PC, and yet, the problem is still there.

Now, I avoid Jowood and Phenomic games as much as possible because I'm always getting messed up with them.

Il faut désinstaller ton jeu et le réinstaller par un lecteur DVD ou CD et pas par un combo ou un graveur. Moi, je l'ai fait, ça marche maintenant.

Hello, a bit late...
As for me, I found a solution (by pure chance?). Anyway, I have the 3 Spellforce: "The Order of Dawn", "The Breath of Winter", and "Shadow of Phoenix" (no "diamond", just the separate versions). To use this solution, you need to right-click on the Spellforce shortcut and select "open". Your computer must not be slow or lagging (it's silly, but that's how it is). So when you turn on your computer (or restart it), wait for the startup to begin. At that moment, right-click on the shortcut and click "open" (you have the time while the computer is "booting up"). Normally, the game opens and starts.

I hope this can help...

P.S.: Note that every time I play, I have to re-enter the serial number.

Yo! News!

Actually, the conflict issue seems to be related to the internet service provider, like Orange, Free, or others. That’s why when you start it up earlier, it works! (not enough time to connect or start properly). However, when I exit the game, I see a blue and green screen -> Orange connection kit. (Could this be the problem?). In any case, it’s definitely not related to the antivirus or anything (I did everything they said about it).

Hello,

apparently from what I have read, the launch issue with the game (at least for the Diamond edition..) can be fixed by installing patch 1.54 (described in this link)

http://spellforce.jowood.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47937

However, I have a problem... I can't find that *beep* patch... I keep being redirected to Bigben links, and it can't find it...

Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks
