Zoo Tycoon 2: The Complete Collection Won't Start

Hello,

I recently bought Zoo Tycoon 2: The Complete Collection. The installation goes well and I can play right after. But here's the problem: once I quit, the game won't restart.
It then opens a window saying "Zoo Tycoon 2 executable has stopped working." I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling without any success. What is happening? How can I make it work again?

Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

I had a similar problem on XP. After several unsuccessful attempts, this solution seems to work:
- Go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2
- Launch zt

It works for me. However, the start-up crashes. I think we skip it by launching zt directly.

Hello! I bought Zoo Tycoon 2: The Complete Collection and I wanted to install it on my laptop which is running Vista, but I realize that my PC is telling me that it doesn't recognize the CD. What should I do? And if anyone has a solution, please let me know. Thanks in advance!

Me too, it annoys me. I'm going to buy another one, why not? You have the right. Since it’s not working normally, they should refund you. There's a warranty, right?

You go to the game icon on the PC desktop and right-click for properties, then go to compatibility and there you change.

Hello!

I had the same problem, but I fixed it by going to:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2; Then right-click on zt, properties, compatibility, and check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" And I set it to Windows 7 (since I have Windows 7); you should set it to what you have.

Now, it works like before! I hope I helped you... :))
