QuarkXPress error

Hello,
I can no longer open Quark XPress 7.31, the following error message:
This version of "XPress Preferences" is incompatible with this version of Quark XPress (86).
I click OK and another message appears:
Cannot access the "XPress Preferences" file (12).
What should I do?

Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 7.0

    This kind of message appears when you launch a file from a newer version in Xpress with an older version... It wouldn’t be an Xpress 8 file?

    If Xpress does not open directly (without double-clicking an Xpress file)... Try deleting the preferences...

    I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it. Still the same.
    I don't have a file created with another version.
    Regarding the preferences, I’ve certainly tried deleting them, but I can’t find them in the folder.

    Look in "Document and setting/Administrator(user)/Application data/Quark/Quarkxpress"... you should find the preferences file.
