Freemind - how to move just one node

Hello,

I am currently using Free mind to clarify my ideas for a project.

The software works well, but there is one thing I can't seem to do. It's moving a node without the others moving.

Let me explain, I have a central bubble with child nodes to categorize my ideas. When I create a new node, the software places it at the bottom of my page.

If the node were placed right below the one above, that would be fine, but it places it 2 km lower. And when I click on the small circle that appears when I hover the mouse over it and I move it up, the software also moves the other nodes. As a result, I can't align all my nodes on my page.

Do you have a solution?

Thank you.

Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 3.6.13

Hello,
Even if the solution is late, it may be helpful to others
Select the node to move, go to the Edit menu and click on "Free Node." The node will automatically move to the central point, and you will be able to move it ALONE wherever you want.
Good organization

Thank you in advance

Not me either, too bad, this software is a good idea, but this option is crucial and apparently it doesn't exist...
I'm currently testing Freeplane, it has node movement options, but it's not exactly intuitive, you have to dig through the menus,
for now, I prefer a good sheet of paper...

Personally, if I were a designer, I would have made double click = create new node.
But no, apparently they didn't think of that.

I found something simple: Coggle (from Google).
It's more intuitive already, still no double click to create a node, but a more obvious button. You can drag and drop the nodes as you would imagine.

After that, I think I still prefer the sheet of paper.

Maybe a bit late but :
press CTRL+Arrow up or down to move the node and then position it.
Everything is in the Navigation menu.

Sure! This could be clarified in the different menus anyway.

Hello everyone,

Freeplane 1.3.11, the big brother, seems more robust to me.
To insert a child node, nothing could be simpler: just press the "INSERT" key.
To move the nodes, I prefer using "Ctrl + arrow key" left, right, up, down... everything is well managed that way.
If you want to highlight a node, use the concept of "free node" as explained above, which you can move with the mouse wherever you like...
Good job!

SaintPhilibert.

Hello,
To move a node, position the mouse on the side of the node until a red circle appears. There you can move the node alone.

Hi,

I have the same problem, when I move a node, the others also move. I don't see what I could have done to cause this link between the two nodes.
If someone could help us, that would be great. Because right now, to have a well-organized map (which is kind of the purpose of the software, to be well organized!), it's a failure!

Thanks in advance.
