I finally found the option I needed!! I think this is what you were looking for too!
It allows you to change both the location AND the name!!
I don’t like it when my files/folders are messy!
And it’s not complicated either:
1) stop the download in uTorrent
2) move and/or rename the file
3) select the file in uTorrent, and choose the "Files" tab in the detailed info at the bottom (if it doesn’t appear: press F5)
4) right-click on the file you just moved, then "Locate," search for the file
And that's it!!
I’ve been looking for this option for so long! I hope it will help others!

Actually, I found a simpler solution:
In uTorrent, select your downloaded file, right-click, then click "stop"
Then right-click again, then "advanced options --> "destination folder" and enter the folder where you want to move your file
Then right-click and click "start"
The file is thus moved while still being available for sharing.

Hello ;))
>Delete the torrent from uTorrent (Right-click > cancel)
>Move your file(s) to wherever you want
>Retrieve the original .torrent file used (if you can't find it on the site where you downloaded it: Options > Preferences > Folders > Torrent destination, check if you saved your .torrents in a folder. If so, go search in that folder). Double-click on it, it opens in uTorrent.
>for Download folder, go look for the new location of the file(s).
To my knowledge, the files must have the same name as indicated in the torrent.
For your information, this is what is referred to as "reseed".
Please only use .torrent technology with files that are free of rights.

I tested Dora's solution. It's faster because you can transfer all files at once: all the ones you have in Download (or "Téléchargement") that you want to put in a new folder on another hard drive, for example. But I find that Dora wasn't very clear, so I'll summarize:
1. In µTorrent, click "stop" for each file being shared (with a right click).
2. Open the Download folder (that's normally where the relevant files or folders are located) and select all the ones you want to move.
3. Cut, then paste into the new folder (on the other hard drive, in my example)
The file transfer is underway...
4. Go back to µTorrent. Right-click on each file and choose "Advanced options" --> "Receiving folder"
5. In the window that opens, select the new folder (where all your files and folders to seed are now located) and click "select a folder"
6. A window will appear, warning that "The destination xxx \ xxx \ xxx \ xxx of the moved file already exists? Overwrite the file?". Respond with "Yes".
7. Resume seeding the file by right-clicking --> "start".
8. Repeat steps 4 to 6 for each file, and you're done!
But of course, if you only have one file to move, nsn27's solution, or Sauveur xD (it's the same), is faster.

Good evening, your tips have really helped me, but some of my files are causing problems: when I try to relocate them or change their download folder, I get this message “The file is read-only. Try a different file name.” and I don't understand at all! Could someone help me?
And I have another, less important question, but I would like to know what it means if there is or isn’t an asterisk in the “hash” tab of uTorrent 2.2.1
Thank you.

This solution indeed seems simpler and less "makeshift." I was thinking there must be something planned in uTorrent for that ;)
Thanks to nsn ;)

No, because we would need to close the program and also relocate the file in relation to the software.
Actually, I didn’t explain myself well.
I would like to know how to relocate the file (even if the program needs to be closed) so that it continues to seed after reopening the program.

I'd like to know how to change a completed file in uTorrent, let's say it's called "12" and it's located in the "download" folder, and I want to move it to another folder, let's say "My Documents", and then be able to send it to others again.
It is unfortunately not in the preferences
In fact, the goal is to move the files from the download folder to other folders while continuing to share that file once it has been moved.

1. After relocating and possibly renaming the file, in uTorrent, right-click on the related download
2. Click on Advanced then on Set Download Location
3. Locate the relocated/renamed file to re-add it to the sharing list.
Good luck!
Does anyone have any ideas?
2) Move your file from the download folder to your desired location.
3) Right-click on your torrent.
4) Hover over "Advanced options".
5) Click on "Download directory...".
6) Choose your desired location.
7) Click "Save".
8) "Replace ...?" Yes.
9) Start the torrent and it will resume from where it left off without losing anything.
There you have your torrent moved and intact ;)
For now, I've only found the "Relocate" solution which quickly becomes completely crazy with a complete discography :-))
I've even looked into the software files but there isn't much usable. Apparently, it works by difference: there is a general path for the specific torrent and when you save the movement of a first file, that path gets saved. But it's in code, not a file type *.ini otherwise it would have been easy, you just had to replace the path in a basic word processor.
