No file system chosen for installation

Hello,

I usually use Windows 7, but I wanted to try Ubuntu and disk partitions to enrich my limited knowledge of computers.

I partitioned my disks following a tutorial. So, I have one disk for Windows, one ext3 disk for Ubuntu, one swap, and my file disk for music, movies, etc., which I didn't touch.

When I try to install Ubuntu and I choose my partition, I select the ext3 disk, click on install Ubuntu, and an error message appears: No filesystem has been chosen as root.

I don't understand why or what that means. I have searched various forums but found no clear answers.

Could you explain where the problem comes from?

Thank you

P.S.: I remind you that I am very bad at computers.

Basically, you need to "tell" the installer which partition to install the program on

Basically (and if I remember correctly), at the moment of choosing the file system, you can define the "mount point"; you need to set "/" as the mount point for the partition where you want to install Ubuntu
