How to remove the lock icon on my Asus PC!

Hello,

I bought my Asus PC about 3 months ago and I've just encountered a problem; a padlock under the mouse with a "1" inside has lit up and since then I can't connect to the internet =/ I can't get it off, please help me! (I'm on Windows 7)
