Hello, I have the same problem on my HP Envy 14. For some time now, whenever I press a number on my numeric keypad, that famous lock with a 1 appears. Since it's an added numeric keypad, I don't have a num lock key. What should I do? Thank you
I just found the solution; none of the methods described above worked for me:
Open your on-screen keyboard (in Start, Accessories, etc.) and you should normally have an "nlk" key highlighted above the numeric keypad on the right. Unlock it and TADAAAAM !!!
I hope this helps you; I really struggled for such a small key...

Thank you very much! I use a USB keyboard at home, but when I'm on the go without the USB keyboard, that pesky Num Lock kept being active with no way to turn it off, and my letters on the right were systematically transformed into the numeric keypad! With the on-screen keyboard, everything was fine! Num Lock stayed activated and could be unlocked with the Num Lock button on the right of the on-screen keyboard. If you don't see it (which happened to me), go to the on-screen keyboard options to activate the numeric keypad!
Help me!!! Thank you.
