Hello,

Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 6.0
After many searches on the internet and the forum, I can't find a solution to my problem.
The original Excel file does not come from my PC.

Originally, I wanted to use the CONCATENATE function to recreate lists of first names.LAST NAMES That’s where the trouble starts. Excel displays the formula and not the result. I’ve tried everything, changing the cell format, F9, using =&A1;&A2
Nothing works in this file. Even when changing the cells to Number format and inserting numbers into the cells, nothing works. Excel only displays the formula. I should note that automatic formula calculation is enabled

However, when I tried opening a new document, it worked.

Does anyone have an idea where to look? Change a setting?

Hello,

Depending on the version of Excel...

for 2003 and earlier: Tools/Options, Display tab, uncheck "Formulas"

from 2007 onwards: Office Button/Excel Options/Advanced Options/Display options for this worksheet, and uncheck "Formulas in cells instead of their calculated results"

Have a nice day

It was so simple....THANK YOU
Strange, this function is document-related since this issue doesn't occur in my other docs.
thank you Cousin

or to keep it simple:
open file press ctrl+", the formulas toggle on or off
it's probably due to an accidental press of these keys, especially without a numeric keypad, that causes this display to appear unexpectedly
