Hello,
on my new PC, I've installed the GeForce mentioned in the title.
However, I have a doubt about the connections. The card has 2 connectors with 6 pins each, and the documentation (poorly made) only mentions one connector, and the box only contains one cable that allows connecting a HDD type power supply to this 6-pin connector (PCIe?).
My question is: should I connect both connectors?
If so, where can I find a second converter cable (the power supply doesn't have one)?
I was also wondering what the best way to distribute the connection would be.

    If you're trying to install a GTX 460 on a power supply that lacks a 6-pin pciexpress connector, then that power supply is old, thus likely low power, or worse, a no-name........

    So, forget it right away! You need to change the power supply; for a graphics card of this type, a minimum of 500w from a reputable brand (so at least €60/70) is required, equipped with the proper connectors.

    And to answer your question, yes, both connectors are essential; otherwise, the graphics card won't work.

      Okay, thanks.
      The power supply is new, brand "advance" or something like that. It is 480 W (so not far from 500W).
      I will check the connectors, at first, I couldn't find the 4-pin for the CPU.

      Advance is a brand classified as "no-name," their power supplies cost less than €20.

      Installing a PC with a GTX460 on this type of power supply is dangerous for the hardware. On canardpc, there is a review of a power supply of this type, it is catastrophic.

      I advise against using this power supply.

      If you have the link, I'm interested. I've read quite a bit where they said that "noname" performs just as well or even better than brand-name products and for much less money.
      Since the power supply is just adequate (in terms of wattage) and I want to add more disks and PCI cards, I'm thinking of buying a power supply of at least 600 W.

    Wonderful, I was about to ask the same question about the same card except that my power supply is a Corsair VX550.

    So I need to connect the 2 connectors... ^^

    Hello,
    I am intervening to provide information that goes against the previous messages.
    Dell offers the GT 460 in the Studio 8100 XPS range while the PC's power supply is a maximum of 350 Watts.

      Indeed, it works. However, be careful, power is not everything; the Advance power supply claims 480W, but that's false.
      Also, it depends on what's next to it. The GTX consumes at least 150W.
