Refresh button on webpage? Solved

Question

Hello

I am in charge of some of the intranet pages at my work and I would like to add a button that, when clicked, refreshes the current page.

Is that possible?
And if so, how do we do it?

I will also have the same question about clearing the temporary files folder!

We use IE and Frontpage 2000

Well, I would tell you:

 <input type="button" value="Refresh" Onclick="javascript:window.refresh()">

You put that in your HTML source code and Voila, normally... ;D

javascript does support reloading, doesn't it?? even older versions (well, this post is a bit old (2005, just 6 years ago, well a little less) otherwise, in javascript, you can even reload just part of the page:

between the <head> and </head> tags, we put:

function reload_frame() {
document.getElementById('id_de_frame').src="source_to_reload.html";
}
</script>

then, in the body of the page (between <body> and </body> we put

<iframe id="id_de_frame" src="source_to_reload.html"></iframe>

then, in the button
<input type="button" value="reload" onclick="reload_frame();" :>

finally, we need to divide the page into two parts. The fixed part that will not be reloaded by this button and that will include the previous code, and the other, the part that needs to be reloaded.
/!\ The part that needs to be reloaded is a whole separate page, so it needs the DOCTYPE HTML tags etc., and <html>...

we can even set up an automatic reload after X seconds of that part, but it may make reading the reloaded part difficult and overload the server with unnecessary requests.
