You can read them with the software quicktime.

With VLC media player, I have the picture but no sound, why?

Really the fastest for me was downloading the Free video converter software, super fast, a piece of cake!!

I have a similar problem; in fact, the images were filmed to be viewed on quicktime, a CD burned on a MAC to be played on a PC.

When playing, we have sound, but no image... could someone help me, as I have lost several wedding images... and it's not going well..

MOV files are playable with VLC
and Nero 7 accepts MOV to create DVDs with Nero Vision
the images are clear and lossless quality with VLC or Nero
maybe after being burned to DVD it's no longer HD but there's no noticeable difference.

Well, I can convert them, but the problem is that I downloaded QuickTime, tried with VLC and all the software on my PC and it doesn't work!
The problem is that my MOV files are about 6 GB... Converting them will take a long time, right?

I had the same problem, and VLC played correctly for the first 5 seconds, but after that, it was total black.
In fact, you just need to let VLC play even if you hear and see nothing, and then restart the video, and it works properly.
I don't know why, but I think that by playing the whole video once while glitching, VLC analyzes it, and then when you restart it, it works normally.

To avoid using heavy software like VLC or QuickTime, you should use QuickTime Alternative, which will provide a codec for "Media Player Classic" and Windows Media Player (or any other player that uses system codecs instead of an internal decoder like VLC).
