Hello everyone.
I’m going to tell you my story and I would like to know what you think about it...
I went on chat roulette, I talked for a long time with a “girl” (the screen was black and she refused to show herself saying she wasn’t dressed...) I showed myself naked and with my face. The conversation lasted from 10 PM to past 2 AM. We said we’d meet again the next day at the same time, and she was supposed to show herself then.
The next day, I couldn’t find her...
I told myself that it was a bit stupid to do what I did... Right after, I stumbled upon this forum where I saw all these crazy stories that have the same root.
I’m trying not to fall into paranoia, and a few things make me think that it was real.
- She wrote without any spelling mistakes and with good French
- It may sound silly to say, but she said things that only a woman could say (yeah okay...)
- She claimed to be from Paris and not from Africa.
- It did last a long time, I wonder if a scammer would spend that much time...
- At the end, when we said our goodbyes, I saw her video for half a second, and I saw an apartment with 2 or 3 girls laughing, which makes me think it was some friends who wanted to “play” with a guy, nothing more...(I even thought there might have been a gay guy behind the keyboard...)
And above all, I didn’t give any information about myself, no name, phone, job, email, address, nothing at all, and it’s a free chat, without a nickname or anything.
In your opinion, in the case that it was a predator, does he have a way to find my contact details, to record the video, or even to access my computer??
One more thing, maybe unrelated but it’s bothering me... since that evening, it seems that my computer is running slow for some applications. I haven’t defragmented it for a while and there may be a network issue, but is it possible to send viruses through a simple webcam conversation? (I have good antivirus software that’s recently updated)
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Hi Isis (is the username related to the post-rock band?)
Thanks for your opinion.
I also think that the person, whoever they are, doesn't have anything on me, so it's not a big deal, but honestly, you never know, I don't know everything about computers either.
And about MSN lagging, I think I just need to download the new version. Or how to force the consumer...

Good evening "pseudonul"
Yes, I think the girl was really a girl.
When it's Ivorian scammers, you hear from them the next day, with an email in your inbox from the "cyber police," or "Interpol," or prosecutor so-and-so Kessy, or the French ambassador, etc., accusing you of pedophilia and pornography because the girl is actually 12 or 14 years old...
They generally don't wait more than a few hours to make their presence known.
So, in my opinion, you don't have to worry about that, especially since you say you didn't give any personal info (hoping that your email address doesn't contain your first and last name, as is often the case...).
But if your exhibition was recorded by the girls, then too bad for you, my friend...
As for your computer, don't be paranoid... To access a computer, there need to be serious reasons... and I don't think it's possible to spread viruses via MSN.
So sleep easy, and next time, make sure of the person on the other side....

Glad to see you're a bit less freaked out tonight... As for MSN, I admit I don’t know more about it.
As for my nickname, it's solely due to my passion for Egypt....
Have a good evening,
Isis
(the Egyptian rock girl ;)
As for MSN, it's normal; there were some minor issues in my neighborhood for a day, it happens. And now they're doing maintenance work.
So no worries with MSN; at the same time, regarding the chat issue, I really don't see how anyone could have sent me viruses since I haven't disclosed any information, let alone my MSN.
I seriously think it was 2 or 3 girls just messing around, and that's it, even though I'm prepared for anything...
What won’t we do, huh...
Good evening!
For what? To have fun????
Next time, ask the girl to turn on her cam, that way you can have fun too...
You guys have a pretty strong exhibitionist side.... The problem is that it can backfire on you!!!
Have a nice day!
Isis
I just read an article stating that every time someone connects to chatroulette, a photo is automatically taken along with their IP address (so their geographical location is more or less precise).
I don't know if it's true, but it's crazy.
