Hello everyone,
I am using the EBP Accounting Pro V9.1 software and I am encountering a small problem, if someone can help me, thank you in advance.
I was entering entries and after having entered about 80, I received the following message: "index calculation problem for this new entry, please restart an indexation of the entries" but I have no details on how to start this re-indexation and I can no longer enter anything for this month and in this journal.
Does anyone have a solution?
Thanks again in advance

Hello everyone,
*** rant ***
I just changed my PC and upgraded from XP to Vista.
Problem: EBP accounting is incompatible with Vista and EBP couldn't care less. After two heated phone conversations, I couldn't get anything out of them; I have to upgrade to version 2009 to be compatible with Vista.
*@##rgh !!!!!!!!
And not even an upgrade just for the OS, nor of course a discount. Now that’s business!

Hello,
I bought EBP accounting 2007, installed it on Windows XP: no problem.
I'm changing computers, and it's running Vista.
I can reinstall EBP accounting, open my file, but then the problems start! For example, I want to consult the chart of accounts and it crashes badly.
Questions:
1) Is this version compatible with Vista?
2) If not, is there an "upgrade" available?
Thank you in advance,
Vincent

Hi Mike Albert, I purchased EBP Accounting and Invoicing in 2006 and only did one update (yesterday) to version 2008 (apparently updates are mandatory in case of a tax audit, too bad I would have liked to keep this version as long as possible...). Everything went smoothly, internet activation, etc., but I can't open my current accounting file; a message says it already exists in a previous software (well, of course), do you have a trick?
Good evening,
I just read your message on the forum - usually when I do updates - I put in the CD, install the new version; I close everything and restart the computer - then I reopen EBP and it updates itself -
You can also back up your folders (in double copy), remove all EBP from your computer, and then install your 2008 version - then you do a restoration - you still need to have all the codes to open it (but you should have received them with the purchase of 2008)
There you go
Aside from that, I'm looking for the 2006 CD because I want to install it on my laptop - do you still have the 2006 CD????
It would help me out since I could work from home
Thank you and have a good evening

A 2006 CD does not exist. During the 2005-2006 year, several versions of EBP COMPTA existed, ending with version 2006 or PRO V10 R3 (revision 3)
Reach out to the competency center in your region, and they will certainly be able to help you obtain this version.
Indeed, an accredited competency center can (if they wish) do some "archaeology" and download older versions (up to version 2003 currently)
To find it, contact EBP by phone or email, and they will connect you with them.
For current updates, V12, they do not uninstall the V11 (or others) present before them and are installed "alongside".

Hello everyone,
I have an issue with my EBP Accounting and Invoicing software 2008.1
When I enter my customer or supplier invoices (New grid invoice) I always fill in a description!! Then I book these invoices when I've been paid.
My accountant came today and when checking in Accounting: accounting entry, the description lines are empty!!
He told me to manually enter all my invoices, I don't find that practical.
Does anyone have any idea about this subject? Normally, it should be done automatically.
Thank you for your help
Best regards

Hi Béa,
Yes, don't worry, it works very well under Vista. I managed to sort it out. My problem was due to having two different versions of EBP installed; there was a conflict, but I found the solution, and without the assistance of EBP, who deserve a big fat ZERO.
Good luck

Good evening,
The problem isn't necessarily about getting the butter and the money for the butter. For the past year, I've been doing the accounting for a friend from a distance (over 1500 km separates us) whom I didn't want to let down when I left France. I installed his EBP software on my computer, and I've only used it for him (I update his accounting live with him via Skype, meaning he dictates his data to me, I enter it into the software, then I save it and he restores it on his end). Everything was going wonderfully as long as we both had XP Pro, but here my computer crashed and I had to buy a machine with Vista, and now nothing is working, I'm getting the same error message as noted above (local engine not accessible with MicroKernel router). I know that if he contacts support, he'll either be brushed off or they'll tell him he needs to buy the upgrade twice, and yet I don't feel like I'm "pirating." I'm doing nothing more than what I was doing when I went to his place to do his accounting.
I've also previously had a commercial version of EBP Immos that was full of bugs, and when I called support, they told me to wait for updates (which were obviously paid).
Sorry, but I don't find them very professional to be honest.
In the meantime, if anyone has a solution to my problem, I'm all ears.
Best regards.

Hello,
You didn't specify which version you are using????
I was using the Compta 2007 and Pro version on XP and it wasn't working anymore either, like you, on Vista,
I went to the EBP site, downloaded version 11.1R7 and Pervasive SQL V8 peer-to-peer, you need to make a backup of your entries, then uninstall your old version of accounting and the Pervasive engine,
(through the control panel and software removal) install what you downloaded, and restore your entries and it's up and running!!!!
I think that it works for another version too.
Let me know if it worked????
Cheers

Honestly, when a company like Microsoft creates operating systems that can't run earlier software, and when a company like EBP creates software that isn't compatible with each other (EBP Accounting isn't compatible with the new Open Line ranges...), it's pure and simple nonsense. Since 2004, I've been doing all my accounting with EBP; the 2004 version was enough for me until now. I wanted to upgrade to the Invoices + Accounting version, and EBP replied that it's possible with EBP Invoicing and Accounting 2010 "Open Line," but that my previous years won't be compatible!!! So, I tested the simple 2009 Accounting version (without invoicing) which brings nothing new compared to 2004 (so it's useless to buy it). As a result, I will have no qualms about downloading a cracked version of Invoicing and Accounting 2009 which will, in fact, be compatible with my previous years and allow me to link invoices with the accounting.
WORSE!!! With the new versions of EBP, you can no longer install your CD a second time without paying for a new license, and on top of that, if you didn't take the support (which you technically didn't need), there's an additional sting. For example: if your computer crashes, don't bother trying to install the software on the backup computer and restore a USB backup; you won't get an unlock unless you pay for a new license... If I were you, I would stick with the old versions; the new ones don't offer anything more in accounting :)
weak point in general: reliability... I've struggled quite a bit with EBP (among other things PERVASIVE DATABASE), I won't tell you about gescom,
we can't say EBP is useless, but bugs on bugs we have to deal with. Maybe the others are okay or not. I have to say that I’m a jack of all trades, so in testing I discover a lot of "inconveniences"; it becomes more serious when we have to deliver a report by a deadline, that's when we do a lot of uncommon manipulations and the risk is high... I'm optimistic I've bought updates since 2001, hoping for a great improvement!! but am I a perfectionist? improvement yes and other discoveries especially in GESCOM PRO V9, where the agenda crashes without warning the software freezes, I restart the machine and surprise I have a window without a menu... WELL...
it's not over, what? the HOTLINE suggests I reinstall, I know how to do that... but...
If someone were to pay me to look into this, I think I would invite everyone to lunch....

printing issue with EBP accounting software updated to 2008, on WINDOWS XP with VISTA theme, slow printing and does not finish
I had this problem with the previous EBP software 2004, after installing the VISTA theme, EBP told me that the update would fix the problem but it's the same. I have an HP printer, and I print very well outside of my software, for example, it works with word processing
what adjustments should I make
thank you for responding urgently

Good evening Yvon
I just saw your response to a question from March 2009 dated July 6, 2009
However, it turns out that I have the same problem
w3btrv7.dll for ebep education version of software purchased in June and disconnected due to computer problems and upon reinstallation this problem arises
My Windows environment is Vista
What steps should I follow?
Because I have a B2i diploma to pass in December 2009, I am taking advantage of an accounting training to do this, certainly it will be on Ciel that I already know, but I wanted to learn this one too ...
Thank you in advance
Murielle

Hello,
I have a problem with EBP; I did an action like sending documents to the accountant from the toolbar menu at the top, and now I can no longer modify my entries. It gives me an error message saying that I can no longer access them and that they are no longer editable.
Is there a way to make them editable again? Thanks for giving me a hand because I find their support service overpriced!!
Thanks

Here is the message that appears when I try to open a folder:
The folder you are trying to open is meant for a newer version of the software!
It cannot be opened until you update the software installed on this machine.
- I made a backup in EBP Compta Pro v11.1, unupdated version
- Because of a problem, I'm formatting my hard drive, reinstalling EBP with the CD, same license key and everything,
- I restore the backup file, everything goes very well, no error messages,
- I open EBP and I open the freshly restored folder and there ERROR
"The folder you are trying to open is meant for a newer version of the software!

What do I do?

Hello everyone,
the problem is not new, and it is because of reactions like yours that we can no longer install a second license on a laptop. In case of hardware change, your EBP reseller is able to handle that for you... provided you have one. You want to manage it on your own: fine, but don’t ask EBP for help if needed. Go ask Ciel how they operate!!
I don't know where you work, but do you work for free? As for me, no. However, when I can help, I don't hesitate.
To come back to Open Line, EBP has completely rewritten a new range. Initially, files from "old versions" are not recoverable. That will come. But Open Line is one of the first products to use the features of Windows 7. You can't have it all. In any case, ask your reseller to help you with that, they will do it without any problem.
Furthermore, you have new versions at quite reasonable costs, but if your current version is sufficient for you, there is no reason to change.

Hello,
I also have problems with EBP accounting but version 2004. I'm sorry, but it was working very well until now, except that the computer's motherboard gave out and now there's a problem. Can someone tell me how to find the backups on the hard drive? Where are they?
P.S.: I have been using EBP programs for many years, and in the beginning, back in the 90s, people who bought the programs more or less served as testers, while still having support, so since then I haven't taken the support because I didn't see the point. Moreover, when we switched to the Euro, there were bugs in the programs and, oddly enough, everything was fixed in the next version. Well, maybe that's normal!!!

Hello,
I have the same problem. I was working smoothly with EBP Compta 2003 on a laptop running XP until Windows crashed my hard drive during a check with the tool provided for that purpose (CHKDSK). I reinstalled this version of EBP on a new PC that runs VISTA, activated compatibility for programs running under XP, declared administrator management, restored the ongoing folders, I can now open the accounts but there are functions that are not usable, notably those related to the chart of accounts, I haven't found a solution for that.
Question regarding Windows 7:
Has anyone tested any of these old versions of EBP Compta (2003 or others) on this new OS? From what I've read, there are fewer compatibility issues than with Vista for older software.

CEL,
the 2003 version does not work on Windows 7. There is a solution that allows you to work around the problem: you need to create a virtual machine with VirtualBox, install XP on the virtual disk you just created, then reinstall EBP and you're all set!
It's quite simple and well explained on the Ubuntu website.

Hello
We have been using EBP since 2004 (EBP Accounting 2004) for the cash management of an association without any issues.
We decided to use it for our own accounting in 2010 to replace Money.
Our problem is that we can't program monthly operations such as EDF payments, taxes, etc.
On Money, it was very simple, but EBP doesn't seem to be great!
It seems to be called "subscription management," but we're struggling with the issue.
Can someone provide some details?
Thank you all.

Hello and happy new year to everyone,
to respond to photodia56, I assume we are talking about payment by installments for monthly transactions, you need to record each due date in the month concerned by the direct debit, either in the journal of accounting entries or in the bank journal depending on your way of operating.

I am using EBP Accounting ProV13 software, and I am encountering a small problem. If someone can help me, thank you in advance.
I was entering entries, and after entering one entry (while everything was working perfectly yesterday), I received the following message: "index calculation problem for this new entry, please launch a reindexing of entries" ...
- When I launch the reindexing, the message says "the reindexing could not be completed correctly" ... great!
- When I launch a recalculation of the balances, I get a message of imbalance even though it is balanced!
And since then, the same problem persists....
I called EBP: technical problem: pay €300 before we tell you anything!!! Well, of course!!
Does anyone have this problem???
Can someone tell me the solution???
Thank you all!!
