How to connect two mixers

Hello,

I am presenting the equipment, so we are two DJs each having a mixing table and two vinyl turntables. We also have an amplifier and speakers.
We would like to connect our tables in such a way that when my friend plays a track, I can lower his volume from my table and vice versa.

    So the tables are: reloop rmx 40 and a beringer ddm4000. I don't have the amp in front of me but I'm 99% sure there's only one input for the cables: rca; rca/jack; xlr rca.
    What exactly do you call active and passive speakers (I've never asked myself that question before)?
