Hello everyone,
I am in a computer science high school and I would like to continue in this field. I am a pretty good student and I want to gather information about the best universities in Tunisia because I have no idea and I'm a bit lost :s
* I heard that ENSI is the best, but is it necessary to do 2 years of preparatory classes before??
* What do you think of INSAT and ENIT (I was advised these)?
* Do you have other suggestions? I would like to continue my studies "in engineering or maybe a PhD in computer science" (I would like to specialize in ICT)
Thank you :)

Hello belkoko,
I am at INSAT but not in computer science, so I will respond to you in a rather general way...
For ENSI and ENIT, it requires two preparatory years, with a computer science baccalaureate, do you think you can do a math-physics preparatory class? After 2 years, you will take a written exam concerning the subjects you studied in preparatory class, and you will submit an orientation form, with the result depending on your ranking in this exam... The schools that will be the first to be requested by the elite will be, to my knowledge 1) polytechnic (about 30-40 places) 2) sup'com (about 70-100 places) 3) ENSI 4) ENIT...
For INSAT, the preparatory cycle is integrated, the first year will be Math-Physics-Computer Science, then you will have the chance to choose from 4 fields: Software Engineering (a field with 0 unemployment!!), Computer Networks and Telecommunications, Industrial Computer Science and Automation, and Industrial Instrumentation and Maintenance... in 95% of cases, you get your first choice, you do your second year in the specialty you chose, and at the end of the second year, you take a competition BASED ON YOUR FILE for the engineering cycle, meaning it’s not written but based on the average of the first and second years; if you pass your two years in the main session and with a 12, you are sure to access the engineering cycle that will be guaranteed at INSAT itself...
And now the most important thing is that you know exactly what you want regardless of the influence of others, and whatever your choice, do your best to succeed as long as all are very good choices.
Try even to visit the universities (INSAT, ENIT, ENSI, and also preparatory institutes like Mont Fleury...) to see where you feel best, the psychological aspect is also important for working well :)
Good luck with your result and excellent guidance!!!

Hello, please I am a student at INSAT, first CBA. I understand the courses well, I love chemistry and biology, but the small problem is if I choose biology, what can I do (work in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic fields in addition to the food industry, of course) or do I need to go into chemistry first to work in relation to the cosmetic or food industries? Please respond to me as I want to determine my field to get out of these questions that keep driving me crazy and to find my path :) Thank you very much in advance.
Hello,
for ENSI and ENIT, you need to go through a preparatory program like the ones at Mont Fleury, Manar, Faculty of Science... and take the written exam after 2 years, then spend 3 years in the school you'll attend based on your ranking in the written exam.
For INSAT, the preparatory cycle is integrated, meaning that the 2 years before the dossier-based exam count as prep (ranking based on averages from the 1st and 2nd year with bonuses for successes in the main session)...
I repeat, the best thing is to visit in person and not let yourself be influenced by extreme opinions!
Another possibility? Maybe with the new system, you could complete a bachelor's degree and request to be accepted into the engineering cycle, but it's risky because places are limited, and generally, catching up to the level of the others will be harder.
(Another note: the only major academic difference between INSAT and other engineering schools like ENSI and ENIT is that at INSAT, the practical training is more advanced, whereas the others have a more advanced theoretical training; both are useful and have their advantages; it depends on what you want and where you feel best.)
Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions, and good luck!

just a note about INSAT, there is more than one program and the best in the field of programming is software engineering
INSAT is known for its clubs in software engineering, Liberty Soft, this club trains you in many new technologies such as mobile programming (Android, Liferay, J2ME,....) web (J2EE,....) in short, everything that is open source and for the IMI branch, they have a robotics club that takes first place every year, the advantage of INSAT is that it has versatile professors in addition to training in new technologies (J2EE, DOTNET, MOBILE,...) and international certificate courses, it has a library that when you enter, you feel like you are in France, you won't believe me until you enter and find the latest expensive books you need for your studies, they are available there and it is always updated, its students are competent since to get in, you need at least 16 average for a math baccalaureate (sometimes 15, which is rare), the pace is intense, especially with a lot of practical work, but believe me, you will have the best training in Tunisia in addition.
well, the comparison with other engineering schools, I didn't want to be harsh with my colleagues from other faculties, but I feel obliged to tell the truth
ENSI studies for 2 years in math and physics, then studies for 2 years of academic + half a year for the final project
that's why their training is not very interesting since in the 2 academic years they don't study much more than programs like C, C++ and JAVA, and most of it is theoretical
well, INSAT studies for 4 years of academic + half a year for the final project + last year project
well, INSAT students study
C, C++, JAVA, J2EE, DOTNET, Android, J2ME, mobile programming
........
projects galore every year, a lot of practical work
they have a Linux professor, you can't know Linux until you struggle with her
remote administration....... in practice
INSAT has a good environment, has clubs, and is a fairly large faculty with an understanding administration
(well, I hope it stays like this hhhhh)
well, ENSI in their training is different, acceleration is something normal in any engineering school, there is nothing special, there was already a master's student showing up in some ENSI
well, ISI has more practical work, it has the advantage over INSAT
studies for more years, more practical work
not as high of a level as INSAT
but it's acceptable
another disadvantage of ISI is that it doesn't cover new technologies.

You compare the incomparable; in fact, ENIT and ENSI are two schools accessible from preparatory classes (with the possibility of integration during the second year if you hold a master's degree). ENIT and ENSI are both prestigious schools, with a preference for ENIT due to its versatility and the quality of its professors. However, in the field of computer science, ENSI has the advantage of being more specialized where the teaching is purely computer science... at ENIT you have this choice of versatility (other teaching than at ENIT)
For INSAT, I remember that there is only one computer science branch (industrial computer science) and even then it is not purely computer science.

Thank you Lithy and Abdelhamid
From what I understand, to access one of these 3 faculties, you need to do prep work... before
the problem is that I don't have the strength to work at the pace of preparatory classes
Is there another possibility?

but everything is ruined :(((( I didn't get the average I was expecting.. my score is way too low to get into one of those universities :// what a pity, thank you anyway :)

It's okay... I advise you to continue a 3-year cycle in computer science focusing on development and design... and continue an engineering cycle; it provides you with the necessary skills... in computer science plus the opportunity to obtain certifications in Cisco CCNA and of course Java J2EE, Objective C, and .NET... Imagine after 3 years an engineering degree plus certifications, that's a good catch for recruitment... in my professional experience, ENSI engineers do too much theory... other than that, skills always make a difference... good luck :)
This discussion is outdated: it was started 12 years ago, and my message is the fiftieth!
So start your own discussion by giving as many details as possible.
And you just need to do a quick search on the Internet to see that ICT stands for
information and communication technologies ...

I am a student at ENSI, yes it is necessary to do 2 years of preparatory classes before, plus you need to have a good rank during the second-year preparatory competition to be able to enter, I advise you to finish your studies at ENSI because it is the best computer school in Tunisia.
I advise you to pursue your studies at ENSI: honestly, it's the best computer science school in Tunisia and the second engineering school after EPT, and it proves to be great both in terms of employment and research (ENSI graduates are the best recruited, whether in Tunisia or France). Additionally, ENSI has prestigious research laboratories in collaboration with renowned French labs (INRIA, LIP6, ECP, ECL, Télécom Paris, Télécom-Bretagne, etc.). So you will have more opportunities to join a program or work abroad.
