Laptop power supply failure

Hello,
I have a problem with my Packard Bell laptop. There is a loose connection at the power supply, which means that when I plug in the adapter, the battery doesn't always charge, and by simply moving the cable, I can find the charge, but if I move it a little bit, it stops charging again. While searching on other forums, I found quite a few people who had the same issue, and the customer service had to change the motherboard to resolve it. Since my PC is only one month out of warranty, I hurried to send it to customer service, and they were quite quick (1 week), but when I received it back, I realized they hadn't done anything at all! So, I called them to find out more, and they told me that it was simply the battery that was dead... Personally, I don't really believe that, and after searching on several sites (especially the Packard Bell site), I couldn't find a battery that corresponds to my model! Therefore, I plan to send the computer back once again, but I would like to know exactly where the problem comes from (people who have had this issue might be able to help me) so that I can clearly explain it to the customer service representative who doesn't want to understand anything.
Configuration: Windows XP / Safari 533.4

Sometimes when I plug it in, it works right away (and the battery charges), and other times I have to try several times to find the charge.
And when the battery is charging, I must not move the cable at all, otherwise most of the time I lose the charge.
I tried to run the laptop without the battery; it worked, but as soon as I touched the adapter cable, the computer shut down.

I have exactly the same problem. So what happened to your computer? Is a repair possible?
Hello, I am facing the same problem with my Acer 8930. It is two years old, and I had a similar issue in February. It was under warranty, so I sent it back to Acer, and they repaired it at no cost, including shipping. There had been no issues until today. This is becoming frustrating because there are not many solutions available. I had already been to a computer shop, but they do not want to do this kind of repair. It's a pity that there is no other way to charge the battery; unless you are knowledgeable in electronics and can do your own repair, you need to find a shop willing to fix it, but the cost might rise.

No response? Does anyone know about motherboards? I really think the problem comes from there, but I don't really know how to explain it to the customer service person.
Hello,
We can try testing the power adapter to start with, but we would need to find someone you know who has a Packard Bell laptop with the same connector as your power adapter.
If it works without any hassle, the problem could indeed be with the motherboard.
Otherwise, get a compatible power adapter that works 100% and test it on your laptop.
Let's start with that and see how it goes.
