Problems accessing web pages
Solved/Closed
Hello,
my problem is that I can't access web pages even though I'm connected. I don't understand why. Is it related to a problem with Internet Explorer?
Thank you for your help!

dakid78I know someone who has a problem with their computer, and to help them, I prefer to ask professionals ;) .
In fact, when they launch Internet Explorer (with the internet connection activated), the homepage: Google displays. If I do a search, the screen shows the different found sites, but when I click on one of the links to enter a site, it immediately displays the basic page to report a connection problem (asking to refresh, etc.).
Can you help me fix this problem? -
NumawebHello,
You need to clear the DNS cache...
Do this > Start > Run (copy-paste): ipconfig /flushdns
Then try the site: Miracle :-)
May the IT be with you, good luck!-

pipoo5Hello everyone, here is my problem. On my computer, there are two accounts. On the first one, we can connect to the internet BUT it's impossible to access any webpage (it says "could not find the page"). However, on the second account, everything works fine. Can you help me or do you have any solutions? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all.-

souadHello everyone
my problem is that every time I switch from one site to another I am told that I do not have an active activation key? I am a beginner when it comes to the internet and I have no idea where to find this key or how to install it. So please, if anyone can help me, thank you in advance. -

I'm having a display problem with the net. My internet access is no longer working. When I launch Internet Explorer, my computer crashes.

soucachoHello Souad
For a similar issue, I was advised to reinstall IE7 but it didn't help at all
I started everything from scratch by formatting the hard drive.
But that's really the last resort!
Good luck, -
tfou27Solution found: I installed IE 8 and I no longer have that message
But I only use it for MICROSOFT updates. For browsing, I use Firefox, which has a lot fewer problems, with lots of addons and extensions, but it consumes a lot of RAM; otherwise, I'm trying GOOGLE CHROME, which is much lighter and a bit faster than FIREFOX.... we'll see over time...-

wMh mathhardyWow, Google Chrome = super risky. I advise against it. It messed up my computer with a virus or I don't know what, and now I'm stuck like a fool with League of Legends, unable to install the updates. By the way, if anyone has a solution for a message that pops up saying: "The startup failed. Please restart the application" or something like that, I don't remember exactly, thank you for letting me know.
Fair winds, see you later. -

LYONNAISHi tiong57, it might be linked to your ActiveX, see:
http://www.inoculer.com/activex.php3
((Personally)) I would recommend Firefox, while keeping I.E for your updates:

and finally, why Firefox ??

lydieI have a similar problem!!! Ever since I installed the new version of Explorer, the only site it goes to is my homepage (yahoo.fr). And when I enter a web address I want to visit, everything stays blank and a message appears ("the required search key was not found in any active activation context"). However, the only way to go to another site is to type a word in Yahoo's search box (for example, if I type "hotmail", it shows me what it found, and from there I click on it and go to hotmail). Otherwise, there’s no other way to go to a site!! It’s frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!! Help me! Lydie

soucachoHello Lydie
Same message for me after motherboard replacement.
Read in some forums;
-uninstall IE7
-restore
but without results in my case.
Messaging is fine and internet access is possible from the Google dialog box
But the favorites and links are inoperative.
The first one to find the solution...

Ben@soucachoHello soucacho...
I have the same problem with my Internet Explorer!
Internet access is only possible from the Google dialogue box.
I see that your message is dated January 1st...
Did you find a solution?
Thanks in advance

soucacho@BenHello Ben
Unfortunately the answer is NO; I haven't obtained any information on this subject and therefore no solution to the problem.
I reinstalled Windows XP and all the programs (what a hassle for the duration!!!) but it’s good for the PC.
It has regained a new lease on life.
Sorry; you might have to go through that as well!
Good luck -
ben@BenHello soucacho.
Thanks anyway! ;)
I ended up formatting my computer because it really needed it, as I had a lot of little issues!!!!
The problem with Internet Explorer is no more :)
But now I have other problems! :(
My computer no longer recognizes my devices (printer, external hard drive, USB flash drive from some friends,...)
I formatted, reinstalled all the drivers, tried all the ports, but nothing works!
When I plug in a device, Windows opens several windows:
1st: new device connected
2nd: ready to use
One of the most important --> 3rd: USB device not recognized, one of the USB devices connected to this computer has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it.
Click on this message for help...
I clicked and followed the info but nothing works!!!!!!!
I'm wondering if it's the motherboard that's buggy????
HELP!!!!!
Thanks everyone

Fr@nck@BenHello everyone!
While waiting for the correction of this issue that I've only encountered on one out of 40 computers in my company, I installed Firefox 2.0 and it works very well...
Good luck!

jacksadGood evening, similarly I no longer have access to a large part of the websites, but I can easily access Facebook or others. This using any browser or device (when I try with my Galaxy Note connected to Wi-Fi, it’s the same thing). Moreover, when I try to start an online match in FIFA 12 on Xbox 360, it finds an opponent, but then immediately tells me that the connection with the opponent has been lost. It's been like this for 2 days, and I haven't done anything particular that could have triggered this problem. If anyone thinks they know what the problem is, I would be extremely grateful to receive their help.

aXXelHello everyone.
I can no longer shut down or restart my PC because a blue screen appears telling me it must be due to recently installed software but poorly installed.
Since I recently installed IE7, I uninstalled it but nothing has changed.
What should I do? -
alex210480Hello,
I indeed have the same problem. For some links and all the addresses typed in the bar, I get the error message: "The required search key was not found in any active activation context." Additionally, I no longer have access to Internet options through the "Tools" tab; I get the following message: "This operation has been aborted due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator," and this option no longer appears in my configuration panel... and all of this started happening since I installed IE 7. Could it be because I have a cracked version of Windows? If that's the case, how can I "repair" my computer without formatting it? (I’d like to avoid that since I’ve been living in Italy for a few months and I left the installation CD of my antivirus, which I paid for, back in France... And I know that if I don’t install it, I’ll be infected in three seconds....)
Thank you so much for your help!!!!!

Thank you thank you

haboHi. I would like to know why I have difficulty accessing the internet right after reinstalling Windows at a vendor's place. I doubt he changed anything.

GegedebrestI just reinstalled the WIFI card on my old laptop and everything is working perfectly. The Orange installer program had made me suspicious by saying that a WIFI patch was missing.
Probably a corrupted or deleted file...
Hoping this can help others. -
kidTu dois désinstaller IE7 puis faire une mise à jour avec Windows Update et tout fonctionnera.

niceNot always easy to uninstall IE7 when the installation crashed

NathalieI just had the same problem, but in the opposite direction: after formatting my computer, I installed a newer version of Windows XP, and as a result, I encountered the message cited above. I updated IE7 and my problem was solved. So it's indeed an incompatibility between versions of Windows and IE that are too different. Therefore, updating everything is the solution to the issue. Thank you.

zoubida56@NathalieHi,
it's not working for me either. When I try to update, the message appears as well, and it's impossible. But I'm glad it worked for you. I'll keep looking for a solution, thank you.

incoI had the problem when switching from a Free modem to a Livebox, as I had to unplug and replug the connection every time. I resolved the issue by displaying it in network connection / properties / Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) with primary DNS 80.10.246.2 and secondary DNS 80.10.246.129 (problem solved).
