convert .kar to .mpeg Solved

Question

Hello,  I would like to convert my .kar files to .mpeg files so that I can burn them onto a CD as VCD.  Do you know of a program that would do that?  Thank you for your help.

I would also like to convert all my karaoke files so that they can work on my DVD player in my living room. I would like to know if it's possible to convert a batch of karaoke files all at once instead of one by one because with the amount I have, I won't have them ready for Christmas. Thank you.

Hello blueoystercult,   .kar files are karaoke midi files (which can be opened with various programs like karawin, dell mp3, vanbasco, karafun, or even winamp)   I hope I have answered your question.

Well, let's say audio files yes and no....   The .kar files are indeed audio files but with the lyrics (like karaoke but softer... no background image, no clip,... but the lyrics still scroll).

Salut, you can convert the midis to .wav and then burn them on an audio CD using the software Wingroove which you can find as shareware. No problem, you just need to buy it to be able to use it fully. The trial version only allows you to create .wav files of 30 seconds. There you go.

I know the post is dated, but it might help the next one... :

I convert my .kar files with KARAFUN, it reads midis and kar files and you can convert to several formats..

For example, my karaoke blog, where I post my converted Mid/Kar files.
