administrator issue when installing Steam

Question

Hello,

I recently purchased Saints Row 2 on PC. When trying to install it, I first need to install Steam. However, after launching the Steam installation, a window opened with the message "the system administrator has configured your system's policy to disallow this installation." HOWEVER, I AM the administrator. I've searched forums for a solution to allow the installation of Steam, but I can't find anything that works.

Can anyone help me with my request?

To remove administrator control: start => right-click on computer => manage => storage => disk management => right-click on your HDD => properties => "security" tab => at the bottom "advanced" => change permissions => after that I don't remember too well, but from memory: on "everyone" click on change and you check full control normally that checks everything you confirm and normally it won't ask you again "you need admin rights" or something like that.
It worked for me: I couldn't extract with winrar on my HDD because I needed admin rights and since I did that no more issues ;)

To be honest devilseyes, I also have an "Guest" account but I don't use it. Just last week, I was able to open a software as an administrator (right-click/run as administrator).

only it indicates a checkbox (it was unchecked when I saw it) that says: "replace all existing inheritable permissions on all descendants with inheritable permissions from this object"

Should I check it and apply/ok?

I followed the steps as you explained. The message still appears when installing Steam.  I don't see what could be wrong.

It's annoying, try to re-download Steam from the OFFICIAL site and attempt to install it.

try to execute the executable by doing = right-click >> run as admin

Hi,

when I right-click, no icon indicates that I can "run it as an administrator"

After that, I re-downloaded Steam in msi format (let me know if I'm wrong), I went to properties/security. Here’s what it looks like

In the group or user names, there are
SYSTEM
Julien (me) (PC-de-Julien\Julien)
Administrators (Pc-de-Julien\Administrateuers)

In Permissions, all 3 groups have "Allow" for 5 things: Full control, Modify, Read and execute, Read and write.
ONLY one permission is not checked and cannot be checked for the 3 groups: Special permissions

Do you think this permission is what's preventing everything?

So right now I'm °__°

I did a manipulation on user management, I launched the CD and by clicking on Steam I was able to see the "run as administrator" icon

the installation of Steam is now almost done because there isn't enough space for the installation, but I'll take care of that.
