Hello,
I'm posting this message because I have a small issue with my .iso files
Let me explain, all my iso files have a .rar file icon and when I open them, they open like a rar archive,
What can I do to get them back to being .iso files?
Best regards.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 3.6.6

There are two solutions to your problem

    1. Open WinRar and follow the path from the menu bar
Options \ Settings \ Integration tab
Uncheck ISO in the "Associate WinRar with..." section
    Click OK

    2. Right-click on an ISO file. Select
Open with \ Choose the default program
Select the program you want to use to open your files (if it's not there, use the Browse button)
Check the box "Always use the selected program to open this type of file"
    Click OK

    I can't :/
And when I right-click on the folder and then properties, I find:
    File type: ArchineWinrar (.iso)
    --'
    Thanks anyway, best regards.

    Have you tried decompressing them?

    Hello,

You need to modify the Windows shell. Or right-click on the .iso and open with ...

Use 7-zip to decompress it and either burn the ISO to a DVD to play it or use a virtual drive such as Daemon Tools.

    Hello era@tik,
I'm afraid you haven't understood well, this is identical to a .rar file, so I can't use it as an iso file.

Still not. When I open it with Daemon Tools, it tells me that it's not the right format :/
I absolutely want to be able to use this file as an ISO file !!
    How :( ?

Yes, I did it, but once extracted, I find the folders inside my ISO image and not the ISO image itself.

    Hello

It doesn't matter to burn this file. The file association is not correct. You install daemon tools and you don't need to burn it.

Do you have the latest version of Daemon Tools available?
Is it with a single disk image that you're having problems? Maybe it was made incorrectly.

    Hello everyone,
Deamon-tools only opens files in .iso format, whereas mine is in .rar format, and I would like to convert it back to .iso so I can read it with deamon-tools.
    Thanks again, awaiting a response.

      Hi

An ISO file is just a .rar with a different extension??

      You surprise me a bit.

Yes, this can happen frequently. In fact, it's an ISO file but WinRAR "takes control" if we want and converts it to .rar.
I have frequently encountered this problem, especially on machines where Windows has just been installed as well as WinRAR.

Ha, okay, so it would be WinRAR that changes the extension by itself.

But on the other hand, if it was a RAR file from the start, you cannot transform it into an ISO just by changing the extension, it seems to me.

There, yes, that could cause problems!

Hello to both of you and thank you for your responses,
The file was originally an iso; however, after extracting the folders from this image with "PowerIso," it became a .rar archive.
I would like to do the reverse manipulation, you understand?
      Thanks again ;)

When you say that the iso file has become a rar archive, well, do the opposite

Right-click on the file, select Rename and change the letters rar to iso.

    Example:

    myfile.rar becomes myfile.iso

I believe I have solved the problem, I just need to be able to burn this image, but it is 7.3 GB in size. Does anyone know if a DVD has this capacity and, if so, what is the price?
    Thank you in advance!

To burn a file of this size, you need a dual-layer DVD, that is to say a DVD+R DL. I don't know its cost, but make sure that your burner supports this media format before buying one.

How did you solve your problem? I'm curious.

In fact, I didn't really solve it, but when I put open with --->NTI, it worked. It seemed good to me :)
