Restore the Word icon Solved

Question

Hello,

Yesterday on a friend's computer, which I had to clean, I deleted the Word icon from the desktop... Thinking he had done "Send to... Desktop," but no, he just dragged it, so I can't find the Word icon anymore...
To access it, I have to go into a Word file and do "File... New"...

Does anyone know how to restore the icon, please?

Hello

Otherwise you can create this shortcut by going to:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12 (if it's Office 2007) for example
You look for the file " WINWORD.EXE " then right click and Send to then Desktop Create a shortcut.

You just need to click on Start => Microsoft Word => right-click on Microsoft Word => Create a shortcut.
Is this what you need?

EDIT: It's not creating a shortcut that you need to do, but Send to => Desktop.

There must be an .exe somewhere else. Search for a file with 'winword' or you can always reinstall Word...

Start -> Programs -> Microsoft Office -> right-click on Word then Send to: Desktop (create shortcut)  Does that answer your question?

Hi!  Are you talking about the icon that appears on the desktop when you install the software, or the icon in the taskbar?

Actually, my buddy, when he installed Office (2003), he went to "all programs --> Microsoft Office" and instead of going "Send to --> desktop," he dragged and dropped it...

So the icon ended up on the desktop and I deleted the icon and emptied the recycle bin... And when I wanted to put it back, well, I saw that he dragged it...

I'm going to try to look for WinWord =)
