Good evening Laurette,

Are you sometimes in "Auto" mode? The burst trigger is generally not available in this mode. If that's the case, try another mode.

On the screen, it is in the menu at the top right, you need to choose the icon with the small windows.
Otherwise, you need to read the booklet provided with the D5000.

Thank you for the info, but even in manual mode, it never shows up in the "trigger mode" menu. Honestly, it's depressing!!

Re, Laurette,

I don't know your Nikon, but look in the manual, you surely have a section "Shooting Mode" where all that should be explained.

I couldn't find the manual for the D5000 online, but you can find these explanations in the manuals for the D60 and D90, so...

Hello,

As you have already been told, the explanations regarding your device should be in your manual. (Buge even gave you the page). So you need to read the manual.

But to clarify the subject, a few details:

The buttons and control dials, as well as the menus, may differ from one Nikon model to another, but the principle is always the same for Nikon. To be able to take burst shots, two conditions must be met:

On the one hand,
- the autofocus mode must be set to C (Continuous) and not S (Single), which can be adjusted on my bodies using a small lever under the lens, where it is written in 3 positions: C, S and M for manual.

On the other hand:
-The shooting mode must be set to CL or CH. CL corresponds to Slow Rate and CH to Fast Rate - S mode being the Single mode.
this can be adjusted on my bodies using the left dial.

These two physical settings are available, and then there is also the possibility through the menus (thus via software settings) to adjust the desired maximum burst rate.

Best regards

Thank you all for all your information. I had read the book on the very first day, but it didn't mention the burst mode at all; I even thought that maybe the device didn't allow it. Anyway, I finally figured it out by fiddling with the device one more time, and by chance, by pressing the "i" info button at the bottom left of the screen, I had fun modifying the info parameters until I stumbled upon the shutter mode and was able to find the burst mode.

It was tough, and thanks again for your answers.

Hello
to take burst photos, you need to press the small button located on the right next to the small screen in the middle, hold the button down, and turn the dial. On the control screen, a symbol appears, an L, and you can take multiple photos.

Hello,
I purchased a D5000 this month and I can't set the camera to auto mode. The zoom on A is to adjust the light and exposure automatically, and to take several identical photos I have to switch to zoom M.
My question is why? Thank you for helping me.

Hi, the burst mode doesn't work with the built-in flash on the camera; you need to disable the flash on the mode dial.
