Here is my very mixed opinion on the picturesque stay box
After some misadventures on the Smartbox website... the site's ergonomics aren't the best, we now have the confirmation of the stay in hand.
The chosen place "Le Moulin de Montresor 37" meets the description in the brochure: setting, decor, room... everything was perfect. However, the same cannot be said for the hostess of the place.
- The welcome was slow to arrive and cold... another Smartbox!!! That's all I have at the moment! (there, that's done!!!!)
- "Proud proud"!!! Well, yes, Ms. so-and-so of what’s-her-name.....
- And rather absent! We saw her for a total of 15 minutes.

I don’t know what Smartbox takes as commission, but the lady does not uphold the partnership!!

Result: an experience that will not be repeated!
Don’t let that stop you from visiting the Château de Montresor, which is very beautiful.

    Mixed feelings about the picturesque box:

    We booked at the Moulin de Montrésor and confirm the previous review: pleasant surroundings, cold welcome, feeling of being a bother, no interaction. Furthermore, the photo of the room in the booklet is not the one we were assigned.
    At breakfast, just a half-hearted hello.
    After breakfast, we left the place without seeing anyone.
    I would prefer a warm welcome and not have a gift (bottle of wine).

    We are disappointed for the people who gave us this gift and we will be hesitant to offer a smartbox.

      I am a Smartbox partner, and I am truly sorry for the Smartbox voucher holders who have received a pathetic welcome from some partners. As for me, I welcome Smartbox guests with the same quality as any other guests. However, as far as Smartbox is concerned, this is the first and last year I will partner with them, because the only thing they care about is how to make as much profit as possible with the least amount of work, customer service close to zero, Smartbox staff clearly not being employed to find solutions, the quality of the Smartbox reservation site for partners is simply incomprehensible, refunds for vouchers are a real Chinese puzzle that changes every month, when they are refunded! Did you want to know the commission Smartbox takes from their partners? 30% of the turnover, which for me is over 50% of the profit. That's why I strongly advise against partnering with Smartbox.

      Manifestation of dissatisfaction for a gourmet getaway.
      We enjoyed a gourmet getaway at the Domaine des Thomeaux (37530 Mosnes) in April 2011.
      My wife and I were disappointed. The indoor spaces have nothing to do with what makes a welcoming residence charming. The room is cramped, and it's difficult to move around the bed. The decor does not live up to this beautiful region of France. The restaurant is not worthy of a gourmet getaway.
      In our opinion, you should no longer offer this address for a gourmet escape.
      Positive points:
      We do not criticize the staff.
      We have no complaints about the sanitary facilities.

      Hello,
      we went to Indre et Loire a few weeks ago and we stayed at the Moulin de Montresor and like the other internet users, we are very disappointed with the welcome!!! It felt like we were bothering them, no smiles and no words of "politeness" like: how was the journey? where are you coming from? Nothing!
      On the other hand, a beautiful house, unique thanks to its decoration related to history!
      We will return to this magnificent region but certainly not to the Moulin de Montresor!

      Avoid the Coquibus in Issy-les-M-x. False advertising!!!
      I just got back from the Coquibus restaurant in Issy les Moulineaux.
      Here is their menu for Smartbox.
      Just 2 choices for the starter - shrimp or foie gras.
      Same for the main course: duck breast or sea bream.
      Same for dessert: either the gourmet coffee or the crème brûlée.
      Same for the wine: a choice of one white (Chardonnay) and one mediocre red (Chinon).
      So, not much choice throughout the menu!
      Once at home, I saw that we were entitled to coffee and a bottle of mineral water, which was not offered to us.
      They serve tap water. Coffee is only served if you ask for it.
      I should add that the dishes are really undercooked, even though we asked for "medium".
      In conclusion, there are tempting dishes (fillet steak, for example) but they are not on the Smartbox menu, even though they are not necessarily more expensive.
      TO BE AVOIDED! at least with a Smartbox that is entitled to a sub-menu.

      I had booked a gourmet meal for 2 at LA FERME DE BERNADOU in Villemur sur Tarn 31340 since June, we made a special detour and booked a hotel just to find the door closed, the restaurateurs having gone bankrupt without telling us, it's a shame!

      I see a general disappointment with the smartbox. In fact, hoteliers don't like box customers; it only helps them fill gaps during the off-season.
      A word to the wise, don't give boxes to couples who work; it's impossible to book for long or interesting weekends!

        Bravo. Absolutely agree. As Smartbox clients, we are considered second-class customers and are completely neglected and treated with disregard. The quality of service is lacking. At the restaurant, the portions are smaller and the menu choices are extremely limited. My children gave me a dozen Smartbox gifts, and they have been instructed to never gift them to us again. Poisoned gifts, to say the least!!!!!

    In the same spirit, in Dordogne, at the Grand Cedar estate, from the photo we expected a large park in the countryside, but in fact it’s a large garden with the (noisy) road next to it. As for the meal, it was mediocre, with a lukewarm appetizer...

    I also didn't have a very good experience with the smartbox; I gave this gift box to friends who were celebrating their 40th birthday and who asked us to join them; we arrived at the guesthouses: first disappointment, a musty smell, very spartan comfort (garden table) and mold on the shower screen with a bathroom that was barely clean; in the evening, we had an aperitif and dinner all together: normal welcome, peanuts in a Tupperware, and as for the regional products (noted in the brochure), salmon with rice and spinach! well! we continue our journey on the wine route and we stop in Lagnes and then at Les Baux de Provence where we rent guest rooms outside of smartbox; that's where we saw the difference: another level both in terms of welcome and the rooms offered; I, of course, wrote to smartbox who, of course, did not respond; really mediocre; I wouldn't repeat this experience: you can find better elsewhere without them, let's be clear!

    All smartBoxes are POISONED gifts. No availability, disappointing service, the same goes for the smartbox for cars.

    NEVER GIVE SMARTBOXES AS GIFTS. The services are not worth the prices.

      Smartbox? No thanks!!!!
      On the occasion of a wedding, we were given several Smartboxes, but there wasn't enough time to do everything, so we requested an extension of the validity period; sure enough, there were hidden fees involved. My wife delivered a baby boy, and we missed the validity date... €250 gone up in smoke. Do you know many service companies that cash in a year in advance and provide nothing in return??? This is a new form of business model.... It does come pretty close to pure and simple theft!!!! Maybe the concept isn't as innovative after all!!!!
      Smartbox? NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

    Hello,

    Not knowing where to express my dissatisfaction, I'm doing it here hoping it will be read by Smartbox.
    One night at Uncle Alphonse's (in Honfleur) the bed base was a plywood board, we waited 30 minutes for someone to come and welcome us (the owner was in Paris for the weekend).
    Otherwise, the welcome was fine as was the breakfast.
    After spending that weekend in October 2010, Smartbox confirmed the weekend for late November 2010 as booked, booked where?
    Commercially, Smartbox, you've pulled something off, I’m going to the competition and there are plenty of them.

    Hello,
    we were given a Euphorie "Exquisite Tables" gift box. Disappointing and therefore bad publicity for Relais & Châteaux. The service was equivalent to an upgraded bistro. The meal was too heavy for a dinner and quality was lower in our opinion. For the same type of meal, a Lyonnais bouchon would have sufficed. Moreover, we were able to check the menu, and the same meal would cost 40 euros per person (drinks included). Knowing that the gift box is worth 159 euros for 2 people, it's abusive and a scam against the person who gave us this gift. We called Euphorie to share our disappointment, nothing happened and they couldn't care less about your opinion. Conclusion: to anyone wanting to please with a gift box, keep your money and for the same price go directly to the restaurant.

    I just returned from a stay at a guesthouse in Aveyron with Smartbox...
    Surprise upon arrival, the owner had no record of our reservation and we were not expected!!! (I had indeed received a confirmation email from Smartbox).

    Fortunately, there was a room available, and he added to his cooking to be able to feed us... the stay went well.

    I wrote a complaint by email to Smartbox, but I've been waiting for a response for a month now....

    Don't advise your loved ones to gift you a Smartbox for Christmas..... "poisoned" gift!

    So here it is, it was my first SmartBox for my birthday, my friends pitched in to give me the "Instant Relaxation" package. I chose a massage near my place, and until then everything went well!

    I'm not a very demanding customer, but a massage isn't cheap, and I didn't expect that!

    I arrived a bit late because I got lost and it was impossible to reach the reception by phone for help since no one answered. Upon arriving in front of the institute, I rang the bell, no one answered, so I opened the door that wasn't securely closed. I climbed the stairs (the institute being in an apartment) and rang the bell again in front of the institute's door. No response. I knocked on the door, rang once more, still nothing.
    I decided to call the institute again. The woman answered, laughing, saying she was on her way, that she was "eating with a friend". So a bit surprised, I waited 5 minutes for her to arrive.
    I entered a small apartment. No light, no heating, not very "institute"-like. But well, that wasn't too bad, the power had just gone out (though I was a bit cold at first).

    What disappointed me the most was being massaged with grape oil from a supermarket brand (Monopr**). I wasn't supposed to see it, but since the masseuse was late, she prepared in front of me, and I saw where she took the oil from.. For a center with an exotic name, I expected more of an argan oil, with relaxing scents.. Not to be slathered with cooking oil!!!
    The massage was indeed my first, but I have been massaged by friends with real massage oil, and it was more enjoyable!
    Right now, I'm sore all over, quite the opposite effect that one expects from a massage.
    I'm not against a friendly client-"seller" rapport, but asking me "so, do you have a boyfriend?" within the first 10 minutes of the massage, I found that a bit bold..

    For a price of €40.00 (smartbox), I found this service very disappointing.

    I wanted to go on the website to notify them, on a client space or something, but there is nowhere I can complain about this service!
    For a "100% satisfied" promise, this is not great!

    Hydrococoon Institute is a DISASTER!!!!
    If you receive a smart beauty box or gift set, NEVER spend it at the Hydrococoon Institute in Geneva, it's a catastrophe! The staff is not professional at all, the environment is anything but relaxing, the Hammam is located in a plastic box (you shouldn't be claustrophobic) in the basement where it's dark and freezing cold. The treatments are poorly done, the scrub hurts as if we are being sanded with sandpaper! I had a terrible time.

      The site is nice, but the welcome is much less so...
      Smartbox customers are not welcome... We really feel like we're bothering them.
