How to trade pokémons on DesmuMe

Hello,
My question may seem silly to many, but I wanted to know if it is possible to trade Pokémon while playing on emulators.
I am playing Diamond version on Desmume and I would like to have an Alakazam; I should mention that I no longer have a DS.
Is it possible to run the emulator twice and make the trade on the same PC?
Or do we need to connect over a network with another PC (if possible)?
Or something else entirely^^
I just don’t know how to do it or if it is even possible.
