There is no messaging program available.

Question

Hello, when I had Windows Vista with Windows Mail, I used to send emails from my Windows contacts. I would go to the contacts directory and right-click on the contact, then choose action followed by send a message. Windows Mail would open with the selected contact as the recipient. Since I have Windows 7 with Windows Live Mail, when I click send a message, I get the following error: "There is no email program associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program or, if an email program is already installed, create an association in the Control Panel Default Programs."

I would like to know how to create this association, because I have associated everything with Windows Live Mail, but it still doesn't work.

I have everything associated with Windows Live Mail and it doesn't work anymore. If I need to add a new protocol, I don't know how to do it!! Thank you

1.Click Start, then Run.
2.In the Open box, type regedit, and then press ENTER.
3.In the Registry Editor, locate the following subkey in the Registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Clients\Mail\Microsoft Outlook

4.Select the subkey and press DEL.
5.Click Yes.
6.Exit the Registry Editor.
7.Start Outlook.
8.For Outlook 2000 and Outlook 2002, click on the Help menu, then click Detect and Repair.
For Outlook 2007, click on the Help menu, then click Office Diagnostics.
For Office 2010, click Start, click Control Panel, click Programs and Features, select Microsoft Office 2010 and then click the Change button. Then, click Repair, and then click Continue.
9.Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the repair.

There is no messaging program available.
