Dramas or anime similar to Elfen Lied?

Do you know any Animes or Dramas in the same genre as Elfen Lied?

    Hey, I recommend this little gem Denpa teki na Kanojo, a gory thriller similar to Elfen Lied, obviously not in all aspects but quite close.

    Anime intro:

    Not suitable for all viewers, contains potential scenes of gore and violence (both psychologically and physically).

    Juuzawa Juu is a delinquent high school student who is used to fighting and skipping classes. After getting yelled at for the umpteenth time by his class representative, he receives a rendezvous letter from a mysterious girl, Ame, who believes she is his servant from a distant past and is willing to do anything to protect him.
    However, as the city is thrown into panic due to a series of particularly sadistic murders, he is surprised to no longer see the class representative. It is upon discovering her death that he begins an investigation into these murders, where Ame seems to be involved.

      Deadman Wonderland, Mnemosyne: The Lady in the Last Era, Higurashi: When They Cry (this one is trash, torture and all that jazz) well, I hope I helped you out.

      The discussion is dated, but oh well! In the same vein (for me) as Elfen Lied, there is Tokyo Ghoul, still the story of beings with powers who kill everyone *_* there is blood, a little nice story, more blood, torture, and more blood (it's forbidden for those under 16)!

      +1 For Tokyo Ghoul, I thought of that right away too. It's very similar in its dark aspect (especially with the hero's split personality and his urges to kill), the gore, and the badass powers. However, what's frustrating are the censorships in the anime, and I had a hard time finding an uncensored version. But the gore (just like in Elfen Lied) is really not the central focus of the anime. We are more interested in the story (very engaging) and the characters to whom we quickly get attached!

    Gokukoku no Brynhildr is somewhat similar to it; I haven't finished it, but the beginning has similarities with the story of Elfen Lied, and the atmosphere at times is also reminiscent of it.

    Hello, this discussion about Elfen Lied is a bit old, but let's bring it back x)..

    Personally, Elfen Lied touched me immensely, both in the perfectly crafted stories and in the dark themes. (I love it)

    I don’t think Elfen Lied has any equal or similar anime.

    However, I know other good anime, somewhat similar or totally different, but still great..

    These anime are:

    -Angel Beats (It progresses quite slowly, but the characters are so endearing)
    -Another (Very dark one), 11eyes (Lots of action, not epic but great)
    -Chaos Head (Hard to understand, you need to think, but it’s not too bad)
    -Date A Live (Not dark at all, but worth watching just for Kurumi :3)
    -Guilty Crown (One of my best anime)
    -Highschool of the Dead (Perfect zombie anime, a bit ecchi but not too disturbing)
    -The two brothers Naku Koro ni... These two anime particularly pleased me. They are really trashy, I think. Umineko no Naku Koro ni shows people being very sadistically murdered in every episode (like stomachs being ripped open and replaced with candy), with a lot of mysteries. As for Higurashi No Naku Koro ni, it may seem very 'kawaii' with these cute little school characters, their sweet way of speaking... Well, no. No, no, and NO, torture among them, alliances and betrayals, tears, sadistic laughter, blood, suicides... You’ll get your fill.
    -And the last one, I was so surprised by the graphics... Just beautiful.. the characters intrigued me a lot, especially Aika, found dead on a chair, bathed in blood.. A great anime, I recommend Zetsuen no Tempest.

    There you go, now you have a bit of choice.. Happy watching (:

      I completely agree with you Skeletyon, it’s been about a month since I came across Elfen Lied personally, and no other manga I've been able to find (and I’ve looked quite a bit) resembles, if I may say, Elfen Lied unfortunately...
      This seinen-realistic-bloody + ecchi aspect is currently nowhere to be found in other anime...

      I recommend Higurashi no Naku Koro ni to everyone; it's in the same genre as Elfen Lied, but personally, I preferred Elfen Lied; the ending is truly poignant...

      I just stumbled upon Mirai Nikki, which, like Elfen Lied, is very bloody but moving. I recommend it because it's definitely worth watching, and the soundtracks are just beautiful! :)

    I confirm a previous post.
    Gokukoku no Brynhildr is quite similar to Elfen Lied (both are by the same author).
    There are quite a few similarities.
    Without spoiling too much: a guy, girls, a person who has lost their memory, supernatural magic, a secret laboratory.
    But it is not very gory compared to Elfen Lied.
    That said, I really enjoyed it (but Elfen remains THE masterpiece : )

    Personally, I think that the anime Shiki has quite a few similarities with Elfen Lied. The story is in the same genre, but you need to watch quite a few episodes to really get into it; however, it's REALLY worth it, the ending is just perfect :) Additionally, the music is also pretty good ^^ but I preferred Elfen Lied on this point :P A MUST-SEE!!

    There is also Tokyo Ghoul, a story with zombie-like characters. There is Mirai Nikki, which is like a game to become the master; they all have different diaries on their phones and must use them to kill each other and not get killed. There's also Another, which is really good; it starts with a curse on the 3rd-year class 3.

      Zombies are dead, decomposed, and have no consciousness. They only have the primal need to eat left. I think cannibals seem even more appropriate! x) Well, whether zombies or cannibals, they could very well eat other things; ghouls have no choice because they can't tolerate other food.
      Yes, well I know I'm annoying and I like zombies, that's not the problem, but it still seems radically different to me! x)

      Tokyo Ghoul is very heavy as a manga... personally, I hate everything that is zombie-related, but Tokyo Ghoul left me speechless... In the city of Tokyo, creatures called ghouls have appeared and feed on human flesh to survive. One day, Ken Kaneki, a young student, is attacked by one of them and suffers a serious injury. To stay alive, he receives a transplant from the ghoul that attacked him and becomes a hybrid, half-human, half-ghoul. He quickly realizes that he can no longer eat the same foods as before. He then starts working at the café "L'Antique," a hideout for ghouls, where he learns to feed without harming humans. But the CCG (Commission of Counter Ghoul) is determined to find and exterminate them all...

      Otherwise, Ajin is also amazing as a manga, as well as the classics Death Note, Monster, Attack on Titans, Hell Girl, etc...

      PARANOIA AGENT is also really good.
