start a laptop with a USB keyboard

Question

Hello everyone

I have a laptop. It's always connected to my TV with a keyboard and mouse plugged in via USB. So the laptop is constantly closed and stored in a drawer.

The problem is that when I want to start the computer, I have to take it out of the drawer to open it and press the button.

So I would like to know if there is a method to start it from the USB keyboard, without having to interact with the computer (for example, by programming a key on the keyboard).

Hi, check in the BIOS, you should have a function for that, but only if the PC is in sleep mode it seems -- the feedback......

Hi  I checked and I do have a Wake On parameter that is set to "disable"  I changed it to enable but it's not working because the USB keyboard is off (not powered) and therefore doesn't work.

While looking closely in the BIOS with a translator on my other PC

I saw that there was a possibility when the computer is in sleep mode to keep the USB ports powered (I haven't tried it but it seems doable)

but when the computer is in sleep mode I don’t see how to do it, because that cuts the power to the USB ports so the USB keyboard doesn’t work and even with the wake-up option it doesn’t work
