Hello everyone,

Here is my problem, I made a configuration error on a Lexmark E260dn. I disabled "DHCP" and "AutoIP" and now the printer has the address 0.0.0.0. I can no longer access it via the network and if I use the software provided with the printer, it does not allow me to reset the network settings to their original state.

Does anyone have another solution to restore the factory settings?

Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 3.6.3

· To access the printer configuration menu
1. Turn off the printer
2. Open the toner cover
3. Hold down the Continue button (green for me) and turn the printer back on
4. Wait 3 seconds
5. Release the Start button and close the cover
At this point, we have reached the printer configuration menu. The menu is presented in the form of a color code using the different lights of the printer (Continue, Ready, Data, Toner, Paper Tray, Paper Jam, and Error).

· To navigate through the menu and reach the Rinit. NVRAM menu
1. Press the Cancel button and release it to scroll through the menus until you reach the Rinit. NVRAM menu. The color code Continue and Paper Tray will blink
2. Press the Continue button and release it to access the value of your choice
3. Hold down the Continue button until all indicators light up in turn to save the value.
4. Wait for the recording to finish
5. Hold down the Cancel button until all indicators light up in turn to return to the Home menu.
6. Turn off the printer to exit the menus.
7. Turn on the printer and press the Continue button to print its new settings. Good luck.

Extremely useful, especially for a printer that moves from office to office and from network to network!

This is the biggest flaw ever encountered on a printer: the Lexmark E260dn cannot be manually reconfigured to DHCP! It is imperative to connect to it via the web interface to access network settings.

So if DHCP is disabled and the fixed IP = 0.0.0.0, there are only 2 options left: use the warranty for a network card reset in the workshop, or stop using it on the network!

Best solution: never buy an E260dn!!!

There is a utility in its installation CD that allows you to enter the IP address.
