Is Opera a virus?

Hello, as mentioned below, I use Opera as my browser, but for the past few days it keeps closing unexpectedly and giving me an error report (I have kept it, so if anyone can help, I will share it).
Also, when I am on the Deezer site, after a while of listening, a "plugging" issue appears and the site shuts down. I don't know if it's related, but it appeared at the same time.
In your opinion, could this be a virus?
Thank you for your help.

Sandrine

Configuration: Windows XP / Opera 9.80

    Hi

Don't listen to him please, he's talking nonsense...

When does it happen? It sounds like a plugin crash.

Yes, it seems to me that I had an update that had been showing ready for a few days, and I finally did it thinking that my problem might have come from that... but it didn't change anything.

Try with Firefox, for example... does it make a difference? I don't know if the plugins are common.

Firefox doesn't work here anymore since I had a virus at the beginning of the year...

Download Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware to your desktop

= double-click on mbam-setup to start the installation
= Install simply without modifying anything
= Do not uncheck "Check for updates"
= if the update fails, do it after running the software => tab "Update"
= When the program is launched => check Run a Full Scan
    = Click Search
= Optionally uncheck the drives not to analyze
    = Click Start Scan
= At the end of the scan (about 1 hour), if infection found
    ==> Click Show results
    = Close any running applications
= Check if everything is checked and click Delete Selected

a report opens, copy it and paste it in the response

    ----------

    * Download ZHPDiag
    Capture

    * Follow the installation prompts, it will launch automatically at the end.
    * Click on the icon representing a magnifying glass ("Start Diagnosis")
    * Save the report to your Desktop using the icon representing a floppy disk
    * Host the report here: cijoint and paste the link in the response.

I already have Malwarebytes, so I just need to update it and then run it, right? I don't turn off my antivirus?

Yes, you can update without needing to turn off the antivirus.

Well, Malwarebytes isn't working anymore when I try to open it, it gives me an error... that's a bad sign, isn't it? I will therefore download it and perform a scan.

But is it not possible to remove the virus and keep Opera? Because I was advised to use it during a previous visit on CCM as it is apparently safer than Google Chrome...
And aside from this recent issue, I am really satisfied with it.

      Hello
If there's a virus, uninstalling Opera won't get rid of it.
Have you run a scan with your antivirus?
Download Malwarebytes, install it, update it, and run a scan; delete everything it finds.

I made a mistake, I think I posted my response in the wrong place... the forum has changed since my last visit...
So no, I haven't done any analysis yet, because I wasn't sure it was a virus, but it's true I should have started with that...

So I ran an Avira scan that didn't report anything in particular, just 3 warnings.
      I'm going to run Malwarebytes.

    I have the same problem; I don't think it's a virus.
However, I have no idea where the problem comes from.

Simply put ... You came across the beta version of Opera, I know the issue and Opera is full of bugs in beta, it's well known.

As a browser, I would advise you to use Google Chrome or even Safari and IE8

I had tried Safari, but I didn't like it...
As for Google Chrome and IE, I saw on the forum that they weren't very safe...???
Is there another version of Opera, and do you know where I can find it?

I understand that Safari isn't really pretty, but it's still efficient; Chrome is too, but if you're so keen on Opera...

      ftp://ftp.opera.com/pub/opera/mac/1052/

That's the link to an FTP for version 10.52, but hey, it was just a suggestion I was giving.

All beta versions are theoretically full of bugs; that’s the very principle ;)

Yeah tigzy but test the opera in beta and here it's not just minor bugs, it's basically a bug factory =) believe me, it's from experience :p

Thank you for the advice WinError, I will take it into account if I can't get Opera to work.
