Hello, I have a friend who has a bug on his keyboard, and as a beginner in computer science, I'm writing a message for him. When he types azertyuiop, he gets azerty456*.
Can you please help him? :D

Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 7.0

Check if there is a key marked Num Lock or Scroll Lock on the keyboard.

Hi! He says he can't see those keys (his laptop doesn't have the number section). Is it that he can't see it?

Check if the Fn key is not stuck. On his computer, does he still have the same thing as in the image I sent you?

Yes, it's just like in the picture. You say to hold down the fn key? In any case, he has to press fn to type normally.

Good evening, if you have a keyboard "azertyuiop", you can fix this issue by clicking on "Fn + Inser Num Lock" at the same time, and your keyboard will find its normal functioning again.
I hope this answer resolves the issue.

Good evening,

I know that the topic is over 2 years old, but I wanted to post my response.
To fix this bug, you need to use the on-screen keyboard.
First, you turn off the "Num Lock" key.
Then, you go to Start / All Programs / Accessories / Ease of Access / On-Screen Keyboard.
After that, you press the "Num Lock" key on the on-screen keyboard and the problem is solved!

Hoping to have helped more than one person!

yes, that's it, but we don't know how to disable it.

In principle, the reverse should happen. It's when you press Fn that you get the numbers.
Tell your friend if he knows how to disable the Sticky Keys. (Although in principle this key is not part of the Sticky Keys)
Before doing that, he should press Fn and while holding the key down, press the "Insert" key and then try to type after azertyuiop
While searching, I found this which seems to relate to your friend's problem

But here my intervention stops as I can't tell you more

Well thank you very much for looking, apparently fn + insert doesn't work :'(, but I'm looking for sticky keys. Thanks again!

It might be a driver issue. Go take a look at the manufacturer's website to see what driver they offer.

I had the same problem, I have a VAIO, you just need to press FN at the bottom left and at the same time press insert num at the top right.
