Text file (txt) in batch (bat)

Solved

Hello everyone, actually my problem with my two computers is that when I create a text file "bonjour" with Notepad as .txt, I rename it to .bat and it should normally be called "bonjour" in batch format, but it is always named "bonjour.bat" still in text format, and I looked on the internet and it works for everyone except me...
So it would be nice if someone could fix this problem.
Thanks for the responses, bye. =)

Configuration: Windows Seven / Internet Explorer 7.0

    Hi,

Open your text file, click on "file" -> "save as". Choose the option "type: all files" and name your file "bonjour.bat".

    That should work.

I would add tools > folder options > uncheck "hide extensions for known file types"...
thus your file Bonjour appears as Bonjour.txt and when you rename it to Bonjour.bat it indeed changes the extension.
